Great day at the gardens. We took the train from St Lazare and then rented a bike to go to the gardens. It was an easy bike ride, 30 minutes or so. My kids really enjoyed it. We visit the house and gardens, that were stunning, had lunch and made our way back to the train station. The train was a bit crowded at the end of the day, but we were so happy after spending a beautiful day in such a peacefull place that we didn´t mind it. Don´t miss it!

If you are not rushing around Paris trying to see everything in a few days then this is a very worthwhile trip for all lovers of Monet.
An easy hour train ride, tickets to house and gardens are on line so no need to stand in line.
Have been there in the aspiring with the glorious Spring flowers and this year in mid-summer. It is ever changing and just beautiful . The lily pond depicted in his paintings has been all restored to the exact way it was. We love it!

This was as expected. beautiful, recognizable and interesting. Went here as a quick detour on the way to Paris. From that respect, it was worthwhile. I would not have been happy to go here as a planned trip from Paris. Gardens are small, expensive, and packed to the brim with tourists. been there, got the photos. Will not be back but glad to have seen it. Very expensive.

The fascinating home and lovely gardens of Claude Monet are accessible to visitors. One may walk through the house and stroll the paths through marvelous flowers and around the famous pond. The photo opportunities are endless. The town is picturesque and offers many restaurants and shops. We were glad that we stayed in nearby historic Vernon, on the Seine River. A walk through the old section was worth the time spent.

We came, we saw, we were conquered!!! It is a magical place knowing that where you are standing Monet once stood but... The crowds.... unbeliveable!!

We arrived just after 9.30am (opening time) and the queue was about 50 metres long even then. We get in and you are jostling to look at the lake with about two to three hundred people. It was manic!!

Admitedly some parts of the garden and house were quieter than others but with the number of Japenese and Americans tourists jostling for a position to get a picture taken with the lake and lilly pads in the background needless to say, it wasnt, being British, 'my cup of tea!'.

If you are an art lover of capacious needs then this is the place for you, and although it was great all i can say is 'been there done that' but wont be returning. Sorry art lovers!
