The beautiful location and the insanely low price for high season in Deauville are the main selling points of the Ibis Deauville Centre. Located directly across the street from the Marina and within walking distance to the all of the major attractions in Deauville this hotel was a perfect base for exploring Normandy. I did receive some good advice from a British traveler before booking this hotel which I believe made my stay all the more enjoyable… First as advised I paid a little extra money for a larger room and was given a spacious room with balcony overlooking the marina which was an amazing way to unwind at the end of a busy day. Secondly I parked in the marina as parking there is free as opposed to the pay parking offered by the hotel. The hotel was very clean however fresh towels were not provided daily (I knew this going in and as I was only there three days I conserved the four towels that I was provided day one).

The staff was very accommodating and was eager to provide directions and maps and general advice about the area. In fact one evening the printer wasn’t working in the business center and the gentleman behind the reception desk was kind enough to print out my material in the hotels office. He even went as far as letting me use his computer behind the reception desk. All in all, I had a fantastic time in Deauville and would gladly use the Ibis Deauville Centre as my home base again as it is a fantastically located hotel for the budget conscious traveler.

We are generally fans of the Ibis chain and have head good stays across Europe. This is not one of the better hotels they have though.

The good bits.
Brilliant location, opposite marina, easy to find, free parking across the road, the beach, Trouville ferry and racecourse all within 20 minutes walk (and we walk slowly with toddlers).
Family room genuinely slept 4 people
Decent enough food in budget restaurant
WiFi worked fine
Staff remained pleasant and patient when I had problems with credit card on checkout

The bad bits.
The room really.... while it was a big mezzanine room, there was no air-con and the upper level had no ventilation being well above the height of the single french window. As a result it was far too hot and stuffy even though temperatures were only average for the summer. Other rooms with a more normal layout might not suffer from this.
Breakfast service was a bit chaotic, not really enough crockery and food available at buffet at peak times.

I could cope with some of this at "normal" Ibis rates, but you are paying a premium here to stay in an expensive resort. I hve paid and smiled where the hotel delivers the goods (Le Touquet comes t mind) but no here

It's a chain hotel, which means it's fairly unremarkable - I prefer small, quirky boutique hotels but I was on a tour and the hotel choice was out of my hands. However, it's close to the casino, water, and the rest of the town. The rooms are clean, bright and typical of a chain hotel.

as usual ibis doesnt change from town to town ,service is always good and cheerfull .this is a relatively new hotel opposite the large beaches and a short 10 min walk to the town center.underground parking is available BUT beware if on a motorcycle as the floor is very slippery when wet ! Bar prices were a bit on the steep side as are all there hotel bars .
Ibis are good value and can be found all over europe and constantly do not dissapoint .

  • Liked — you know what to expect with ibis good value
  • Disliked — bar a bit pricey

This hotel is very well locatedin Deauville, it's across the road from the marina and just round the corner from the town with all it's shops and restaurants.

We stayed in April durng school holidays and right in front of the hotel next to the marina is a large parking area where we could park for free, and we never had any problems finding places although the hotel itself appeared to have a car park that you could pay for.

The room we had was on the 4th floor facing away from the marina, it had a little balcony, but we didn't use it due to the time of year. The room was pretty spacious, good size doube bed, which was pretty comfy along with a single bed which doubled up as a kind of sitting area/sofa plus in the entrance hall there was also a 2nd single bed, so in effect if staying with a child as we were you could almost have separate rooms as there was a door between the entrance hall and main room.

The bathroom had a bath and overhead shower. Everything was clean and in reasonable order.

Some of the public areas of the hotel appeared a little tired, but nothing major and there was refurbishment going on at the time in some areas.

The breakfast was good value compared to outside cafes, buffet style, in theory all you could eat, with the usual breads, croissants, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, pancakes, hot and cold drinks.

The staff were also very friendly...when we (wrongly!) suggested the reception of trying to charge us twice they were only ever polite and courteous to us.

All in all this hotel is good, and good value, I would definitely recommend it for a stay in Deauville and would go back there again. It's ideal for those who are budget conscious, but don't want to slum it either!

The bloke on reception looked as though he didn't want to be there but everybody else was friendly and helpful.

We had two rooms and both were spacious and clean. Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in our rooms though. Breakfast was included and there were no problems with the buffet. We had dinner at the hotel one evening which was both enjoyable and reasonably priced.

Great location. The free car park opposite was full so we used the secure parking under the hotel which is €10 per car per night.

We stayed here for two nights on our way from Dieppe to St Malo and it was fine for what we needed.

We're no stranger to the Ibis at Deauville. First came across it in 1996 as the base for a coach holiday, since then we drive there!

Friendly staff, very attentive, good food, although I found breakfast was a bit pricy and found a back-street cafe that did English breakfasts! Great view across the marina and into the neighbouring town of Trouville from the front rooms, interesting views of the back of Deauville Police Station from the back rooms!

Restaurant is very reasonably priced, but as with most Accor-group hotels, the menu never changes! But Deauville and Trouville have hundreds of restaurants to try.

Better to park your car in the free public car park across the road.

Overall a good, centrally placed base to stay to explore Normandy.
