“Very pleasant dining experience”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

I make a point of visiting this restaurant every time I'm in Cherbourg - which is about once a year. The food and wine are both excellent as is the excellent service, comfortable and convivial atmosphere only add to this. One of the best sirloins I've had in northern france! Recommended for exhausted sailing yacht crews :)

“Great mains shame about the desserts”
Reviewed August 15, 2012 via mobile

Difficult to find and just chanced upon it whilst walking away from the market. Chose a set menu. Oysters were unbelievably fresh. My onglet steak whilst under seasoned was juicy and tender. Veg and spuds were excellent. My dessert was small but tasty. Friend's starter of duck carpaccio was ok. Main of pork minion was very good. Pudding was hideous. Melted tolblorone. Very strange and sickly. Wine choice ok and very reasonably priced. Overall a good find. Service was attentive although I prefer to try to speak in french rather than be spoken to in english.

“Good food and trash metal music”
Reviewed March 20, 2012

Lots of nice things on the menu. Not expensive, friendly staff, nice pub-like atmosphere. The (soft) trash metal in the background didn't quiet fit with the atmosphere and the public.

“Lovely !”
Reviewed July 25, 2011

Went for an evening meal before getting the ferry to Poole. Extremely pleasant restaurant, very good service, lovely decor (very nice toilets !), fine for veggies. In the town centre, but tucked away, so perhaps not found by many tourists. It was recommended to us by the very helpful proprietor of the lovely Salon de Thé around the corner.

“Pleasant cafe behind the market”
Reviewed May 5, 2011

It can be hard to find decent food when you arrive on a ferry at 2pm, but this cafe was just right. Plenty of choice of typical French dishes - we had salads. The 3-cheese salad (three different cheeses cooked in breadcrumbs and laid on top of a nicely-dressed and interesting salad) at under 10 euros was very good. The gourmet coffee (served with three little desserts) at 5.50 euros was also good value and the wines by the glass were great. A nice place when you're almost too late for lunch but don't want to spoil your appetite for dinner.
