“A gorgeous hotel in the most perfect location!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Everything about Hotel Tardif was absolutely splendid! I spent four wonderful days in Bayeux at the Tardif and it was a beautiful vacation.
The Hotel's grounds were the first thing I noticed and they truly took my breath away. The hotel is tucked away in a gorgeous sprawling garden giving it plenty of privacy.

The impressive cathedral is just across the road and you can hear the church bells ringing through out the day, giving Tardif even more of an enchanted feel! With the Tapestry less than a minutes slow stroll away, I couldn't believe how great the location was!

The room was perfect, everything one has need of! The furnishings are perfectly selected and I loved all of the paintings! Luckily I went for a run each morning as Anthony's breakfasts were too good...seconds was always necessary!!!

Anthony was a delight to deal with and was always more than happy to give me suggestions about restauraunts, sights...and even where to go running. Certainly above and beyond!!
I can't wait to go back to Bayeux and stay at the Tardif again! Highly recommended!

Everything! Monsieur Anthony Voidie was the best host anyone could ask for! The location is excellent, our room was large, clean and just lovely in its decor! Lastly, I accidentally left my camera which he promptly mailed to Paris. We would encourage all to stay at Le Tardiff! We even welcome Monsieur Anthony to our home as he is as delightful as he is a host.

This hotel has a lot going for it but beware the proprietor. It is a beautiful old stately house with a beautiful garden. The rooms I can only describe as " faded elegance". Our room was huge with creaky floors and an odd ensuite bathroom. We could open the windows and hear the bells of the cathedral. Breakfast was adequate. It is certainly centrally placed to everything in Bayeux being around the corner from the tapestry. The real failing of this hotel is the manager who is unhelpful if u ask for anything.

Our stay at your guest home (Chateau estate best describes it) was a truly memorable one. Rooms throughout your home and our guest chambers were beautifully appointed with period furnishings. Your presense and care provided throughout our stay was sincerely appreciated. Breakfast was one of our favorites since you provided protein along with what appeared to be homemade cereal and nice pastries. The property outside is also well manicured and inviting. Your mom was a wonderful host to us since we arrived a day early and she took us inside her home as a guest for the one night. Her property is exquisite as well and just around the corner from you. We will gladly return and enjoy our visit with you again. Three days were just not enough. We can hardly wait to return and appreciate your time and efforts with abundant particulars provided throughout our stay. A'Biento and well wishes to you.

This is an old charming B&B one block down from the Cathedral and near the river. The room was facing the garden, and was charming. The bed was perfect. Anthony was good help in directing us to resources, and just about everything was within walking distance, including the train station, although come prepared with a map. Breakfast was typical French continental; fine yogurt, fine croissant, good coffee. Best internet we had in two weeks touring France and London. We'd go back.

From the moment we turned into the narrow private drive we knew we were in for a real treat at Hotel Tardif Chateau. It feels like you are out in the country at your own private estate but you are really right in the middle of a perfect location to experience Bayeux. The gorgeous landscaping welcomes you into a beautiful parlor to meet with Anthony and his warm personality.

The entire time we were there it felt like home. In fact there were days we would have welcomed just staying in the hotel and enjoying the beauty of it.

The morning breakfast was perfect to set us out on our way for the day of sightseeing. There were so many questions we had about the area, the best place to eat, drink, visit, and Anthony took the time to sit down with us and basically give us a free tour of all the wonderful places there.

I am not always a fan of bed and breakfast type of establishments, but I would have never passed up this experience to stay in a chain after seeing all the warmth Hotel Tardif had to offer.

Don't miss this beautiful place or the friendly welcome from Anthony while you are in the area.

Room Tip: We loved our big blue room on the bottom floor that had its own doors that opened to a little sittin...

We had the pleasure of staying at the Tardif on our visit to the Normandy beaches in January 2013.
The building has been tastefully restored without losing the character and charm of its era but at the same time was very warm and welcoming, as was the host Anthony. All this set in a large secluded garden. The rooms are furnished beautifully with antiques. We felt as though we were staying in one of the European homes you normally buy a ticket to visit. Our room was enormous, quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, served in the dining room. The Tardif is well located, we walked to the shopping area within 10 minutes, where there are plenty of restaurants. We would certainly stay again when visiting Bayeux in the future. Thank you Anthony !
