Great stay. A bit hard to find but don’t let it put you off. Just keep driving around the narrow streets and look for the small sign on the wall.
Miriam is a blessing. Listen and she will organize all you site seeing with directions, maps and highlighters.
Good breakfast.
Be nice to the cats, dogs and rabbits who are all very well behaved
Rooms excellent. Garden delightful to sit in after a big day at the beaches (or wherever)

We took the advice of prior Trip Adviser guests but were sadly disappointed. The place is "in need of" and "in the middle of" major repair/upgrades. A mother and two spoiled boys run the operation if you want to call it that. Probably the worst place we stayed in France over 16 days. Worth about 25 Euros at most.

We spent three nights at the Villa Aggarthi and couldn't have had a better experience. Myriam, the owner, is a fountain of local information. Her recommendations of places to eat, things to be sure to see and how to avoid some of the crowds was excellent. The room was comfortable and clean, but basic in its furnishings. The location is just a few blocks from the very center of town. Be prepared to be greeted by 3 adorable dogs, and there are cats, rabbits and a chicken around the yard.

Highly recommended. My wife and I had an exceptional stay with Myriam and family. Absolutely first class. Myriam spent so much time with us recommending routes and tours to follow, places to see and eat in Bayeux and beyond - right down to the finest detail. Villa Aggarthi is located within a 3-5 minute walk of the very heart of Bayeux. It is convenient, comfortable, homely and evocative of all that is beautiful in France - a place full of history and charm, good food. Close to all tourist attractions (e.g. Bayeux Tapestry, Bayeux Cathedral and Place du Quebec where many of the D-Day site tours depart from e.g. Battlebus and Overlordtour) and some lovely cafes/restaurants. Also a pleasant distance by foot from the British War Cemetery, the Memorial Museum, beautiful public gardens. The family were so kind to us and made our stay a really unforgettable one. Only 1-1.5 hrs drive from Cherbourg (98 km) if you are planning to come to travel to the port by ferry.

This B&B was exactly what we were expecting. You had your choice of rooms when you booked which were obviously based on size and whether you had to climb stairs. We stayed on the top floor and the room was small with a slanted ceiling, but it was clean, well kept, the bathroom was beautiful and it was quiet. We paid 60 euros for the room per night and I thought that was more than acceptable. Was it a hotel? No. Was it in a great location- close to the center of Bayeux and near the departure of the D-Day tours? Yes. Breakfast was typicall French (crepes, bread, jam, coffee, hot chocolate, croissants) but better than a lot of things you get in most hotels (and included in the price) and the owner's son was extremely nice and let us keep out bags there the last day after we had checked out so that we could continue visiting Normandy. I also appreciated the fact that we had keys to the outside gate so that we could come and go as we pleased. Overall, I recommend it, and I think that it is everything that a 60 Euro/night B&B should be

When arriving at the big white gates you think this cannot possibly be it, but once the gates have been opened what a pleasant surprise. You are greeted by a wonderful hostess who cannot do enough to help you to have an enjoyable stay. We had a first floor room which was basic but clean and comfortable with a modern en suite bathroom. There are extensive gardens, unfortunately breakfast could not be taken in the garden because the early mornings were quite chilly but the idea inside of the big farmhouse table with all the guests sitting round for breakfast was great and certainly broke the ice, the other guests were Australian and American so no language problem. Breakfast was typical continental. Free car parking was a great asset and the cars were safe behind the big white gate. Our hostess explained about Bayeux and various restaurants, her recommendations were excellent. As the main purpose of our trip was to explore the Normandy beaches and museums, homework had been done, and our hostess provided us with maps and extensive information to help us on our travels, she also had excellent English. We spent 2 nights in the area which was not enough to do the area justice but if we do return it will certainly be to the Aggarthi.

We were affected by the volcanoe on our proposed trip in April, and had to rebook our accomodations in Bayuex in June. Since we rebooked for June 6, we found that there were not many accomodations available. We had to split up the stay. We stayed on night at this B@B. We were given the top room which had a ceiling that was sloped and you had to take turns to walk around the bed to get to the other side. Not recommended for tall people. We are short, so you can imagine. Myrium was gracious at first, but got a little testy when I didn't know how to lock the door on the outside gate. There is a small kitchen at the bottom of the separate house to use, but not too clean. Overall the room was clean and fine for one night, but we stayed in another place B&B for two nights that we loved in Bayeux.
