The friendly staff is the best reason to stay at this place. They were very helpful in arranging taxis, tours, recommending restaurants, and generally making our stay in Bayeux pleasant. The hotel itself is nice enough, with a comfortable bed, clean facilities, and a nice breakfast. The location is perfect, about a 5-minute walk from the cathedral and center of town, and a ten-minute walk (or very short cab ride) from the train station. We got good value for our money. The only down-side is that the 19th century building seems to have fallen victim to a very sparse 1980's renovation, so there isn't much in the way of decor. But we will stay here again if we come back to Bayeux, and we can see all the art we want at the Musée Baron Gérard down the street.
