We stayed here just before Christmas for 3 nights. It was very nice! The hotel staff were very professional and went out of their way to accommodate and help us. All spoke English, and tried hard to help us with our French! The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was very generous by most European standards, with a good, large shower. The restaurant in the hotel is open all day, and the food was wonderful! The off season rates were outstanding! The hotel is centrally located in the old town, just across from the cathedral. Overall, it was a very nice stay, and we have plans to return. Bayeux is a gem!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the separate cottage in the back of the main hotel. I would recommend it.

We stayed for 2 nights in the annex and can only praise the staff and hotel, it was clean and very comfortable. I would also recommend the restaurant which served first class meals. The hotel is in the heart of the town and only a short walk to the tapestry and a massive free car park. The only fault that we could find was the lack of tea making facilities in the room but then we did not mention it to the staff when perhaps we should have done. we will be staying there again.

Room Tip: Mention when booking if you find stairs difficult as there is no lift

I would like to recommend this hotel as a excellent place to headquarter to tour and explore the Normandy area. Normandy is like one vast open air museum, with a wealth of historic sites and museums where visitors can find out more about D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
This hotel is a little gem. It's location is wonderful in the heart of Bayeux, with available parking nearby, shopping, and several restaurants within walking distance.
We had two rooms one in the front of the hotel and one in the back. Dispite being located directly about the street noise was not and issue. The rooms are updated, clean and comforable with a fair price making this hotel an excellent value and choice for staying in the area.
They serve a basic breakfast for an additional charge which is ok. I would recommend the hotel restaurant for an evening meal. Lots of choices and not too expensive. We were able to have a nice meal with wine for three persons for 40-50E.
The staff was polite and very helpful. I had a little car problem when I was there and they did everything they could to help. I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay in the Normandy area. It's very close to the American beaches, Utah and Omaha, the American Cemetery and the Ranger Monument at Pointe Du Hoc.
If you have a car you can easily visit all of these points of interests in addition to numerous museums in the area. You don't need a guide or guided tour to explore the history of the area.
I do recommend that you allow two or three days to explore the area. I think alot of people come to the area without understanding the scope of the battlefield. If you go I would definately consider staying at the Hotel Reine Mathilde and using it as a base to explore the area.

... but my experience matches so many of the others. Stayed in the annex.

Plusses: lovely and contemporary, yet with cool beams on ceiling. Large contemporary bathroom, comfy bed that felt more like Paris than Normandy. Skylights. Hotel staff was extraordinarily helpful. Quiet, with a lovely stream rolling by outside the room. Fantastic value.
Drawback: did not have a closet, but given that we stayed only 1 night, was a non-issue. No mini-bar fridge to keep food cold.

This hotel is a great choice if you're exploring Normandy, especially the D Day sites, due to its location in the heart of Bayeux. The rooms are super modern (updated), clean, and comfortable. The service is excellent as well. We had no complaints and much praise for this hotel during our 2-night stay.

This place was amazing. We came in the off season to visit the D-Day beaches. The service was great, accommodating, and very friendly! The room was unreal! Extremely clean, modern, and comfy! Location was great and the price was GREAT value for your money. The restaurant was very good as well! Thank you for a great stay!

Great little hotel in the center of Bayeaux. We were looking for a place to stay while visiting the Nomrnady sites. This place really fit the bill; clean, roomy enough and nice bathroom. We had dinner one night at their restaurant and found it to be a good value in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a vew of the cathedral
