My wife and I stayed here with our 2 year old son for 1 night on our way to Brittany and loved it. The duplex suite was spacious and clean, with a lovely courtyard at the rear that was a great sun trap. The real treat about this place is the grounds; Henry loved feeding the ducks and swans and watching them swim down the river. A bonus also was the play area with swings and a slide. We only used the restaurant for breakfast which we thought was pretty good value. In the evening we walked the 15 minutes into Bayeux for dinner. A great place for a stopover from Calais - attentive staff and child-friendly.

We stayed here in late October, so the weather was rainy and rather miserable. But I would definitely like to stay again in the warmer months and enjoy the lovely grounds.
Had the top room in the chateau (15 I think?) which was quite large. The room next to it shares a private hallway that can be closed-off if you wanted two rooms in your own little 'wing' of the hotel.
If you have a car (free parking), the hotel is very convenient to the Bayeux Tapestry and Cathedral, Commonwealth War Cemetery and Battle of Normandy Museum. It's also a short drive to other WWII sights like Juno Beach/Courseulles-sur-Mer.

Lovely place. Ideally located if you have a car. English spoken. Do not rely on the restaurant. The Chateau was beautiful as were the gardens. We saw cows in the morning, swans, and very interesting looking ducks. We stayed on the 4th floor but there was a lift to help get the luggage up. The Chateau decor is lovely for the Christmas Holidays. This is a traditional Chateau style, no modern decor. The room was perfect for the 2 of us and the bathroom was brand new.
We took the train into Bayeux and the hotel is nice and close. We needed a taxi with our luggage though and the hotel staff was very helpful in calling a taxi when we needed one. And we did need one because this chateau is about 20 mintues walking distance from town. But we can hear the church bells from the cathedral.
There is a restaurant in the hotel but it it not always open so you must ask if it will be open. Do not go by the published hours and days that you find in the hotel.
I would definitely stay there agian and would recommend it to anyone with a car.

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room in the place

This French castle was used as a nursery home in the past. Making the showers huge, and the beds very comfortable. The fire was burning in the lobby, very nice lounge to relax in. I was there for business though if you are traveling for pleasure, it’s a nice extra luxury to your trip.

This hotel is in an attractive chateau which appears to have been moted at one time. The grounds are very pleasant but spoilt by nearby major roads, furniture store, railway, allotments etc. Fortunately, the noise from these is not audible in the rooms. Our room suffered from being a little cold as neither radiator was working properly. A plumber was called in but apparently could not improve matters much. The temperature was not improved by the fact that, when curtains were drawn, both radiators were covered over. Sitting in a lounge was not realy an option as the two main public rooms in the hotel were both being used as the dining room. Other rooms at the rear appeared to be set for conferences. We had a very nice smart bathroom. The bath had a shower attachment but no shower curtain so it was difficult to have our usual daily showers.
The hotel was serving meals but we thought that at about 30 euros for a 3 course meal it looked expensive compared with what was available in the centre of Bayeux which was about 1km away. Continental breakfasts were rather better than average.

We booked 2 nights in a duplex unit. It Is located in a separate building. The interior was bare and fIttIngs dId not seem to work. At best 3 stars. The first flight of steps was anchored only to the wall and a few look like they might give way any time as the hanging end dipped a few cm when we walked on them.

The breakfast was supposed to be 7.30am but on first day the server was struggling to put on items at 7.45am and we have to leave 8am for appointment. The boiler for eggs was not working so after waiting for 7 min, the egg was completely raw. On the second day, the entire place was pitch dark at 7.30am. We rang the bell to wake the server. He was upset that we didn't inform him the night before that we were leaving early. He claimed that he was busy with many people and therefore breakfast was not ready. We had to catch a train with a child without breakfast. He was not the least apologetic!!

The only thing which was quite good was the dinner. We chose to eat in hotel because it is at least 20 min walk with child from town. We were not keen to walk back along narrow back streets in the cold nights.

So I think it did not live up to expectations of booking into a chateaux hotel and the service is definitely appalling.

Room Tip: For family, better to book hotels in town centre.

A very nice character building in beautiful grounds that are a stone throw from town. Just what you would want to find in France. I'm sure a German high ranking officer would have occupied it in the 2nd World War. A statue of Eisenhower was on a roundabout just around the corner. The windows were about 6 feet tall and had to be opened all along the centre vertical for ventilation. My toilet had no ventilation other than the room itself so my partner and I kept nipping downstairs.
The location was excellent for eating out in Bayeux which is a charming town with lovely restaurants. The D Day landing beaches and cemeteries are all within easy reach. A very good location.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have better views.
