Description: As Marc Fortier is french & his wife Dara is Irish, that makes for a warm welcome in french and english! Our aim is to give a friendly welcome whilst providing simple but good food & drinks at reasonable prices! Our food menu includes - FISH & CHIPS, hamburgers, fresh sandwiches, omelettes, homemade soup, toasted sandwiches, salads, & for those missing them - hot dogs! We also have a tasty choice of crepes, waffles & warm chocolate cake ..To drink, we have the treasured produce of Normandys apples.. apple juice, cider, Pommeau & Calvados. We also have the goodness of Guinness- of course! To quench your thirst further, we have a wide range of fruit juices, sodas, mineral water & very good coffee !! Food & drink service continues all through the day, so if you'd like a tasty omelette at 11.30Am or 5pm - yes we can ! Just follow the signs for the main entrance to the Bayeux Tapestry, we're the red building just opposite ! We look forward to welcoming you : ) Marc et Dara :)

We had dinner here twice. For me it was the Fish and Chips, the best I've had in years, and the cold beer. Dara and Marc are great hosts. Provide a great place with a laid back atmosphere to come eat and decompress after a day touring the D-Day Beaches and the British Cemetery. You won't go wrong spending and evening here.

This became our home away from home during our stay in Bayeux. Marc and Dara are charming hosts and are the most friendly of folks we met on our entire two week trip throughout France.

Fish and Chips are outstanding along with a great selection of beer. You'll love it!

After visiting the tapestry with two weiry children finding lunch quickly was paramount which made this restaurant ideal for lunch as it is so close to the city centre and we were not disappointed
Food service and atmosphere were all first class and is great for kids as they have a selection of books and games while you wait
Would visit again and comes highly recommended

My husband and I had lunch at Le Conquerant on Saturday, July 28th. We had the fish and chips which was the best I ever had in my life - even better than in London. Friendly, fast service, relaxed, a step away from the Tapestry, and just outside crowds of "downtown". Quiet, lovely outdoor dining, and delicious. We returned late in the afternoon for a snack! Would recommend this to anyone! I couldn't have been more pleased at every single thing.
