I've been wanting to visit Normandy and the sites of D-Day battles for decades. I heard amazing things about Paul's tours from friends, and came expecting a moving and professional tour. The actual event was even better. He took us to the out-of-the-way places that really mattered, showed us everything from the strategic importance of what happened there, the details of the action, and the stories of the soldiers whose bravery made a difference in the battle. His approach turned D-Day from a movie or history lesson into real people who did extraordinary things for freedom. Paul's deep knowledge of the places, facts and participants, and his passion for telling their stories, truly made the events come alive. My only regret was that we could only schedule one day with Paul. If Normandy is on your to-do list, a tour with Paul is an absolute must.

Yesterday my husband, daughter and I did Paul's Band of Brothers tour. It was a fantastic day that we all enjoyed. Paul has immersed himself in the subject matter and, admirably, seems to have done a great deal of independent research, interviews and other on site detective work to give him a very thorough knowledge of a huge array of personal, geographical, and other military details relating to the Band of Brothers contribution to the allies' Normandy campaign. He is not afraid to evolve his own theories about how and why events unfolded as they did. He seems to be recognised and respected by locals and the veterans and their families and in turn deals with the veterans' legacy with respect yet without overdoing hero worship. It is always a pleasure to listen and learn from someone who is passionate and learned on their subject and Paul fits these criteria. His professionalism was most impressive.

I had the pleasure of again touring some very special places in Normandy with Paul Woodadge, D-Day Historian. Once again, Paul demonstrated what makes him the premiere historian/tour guide in Normandy. His knowledge is exceptional; however, what sets Paul apart from all others is his ability to recount the personal stories of those who fought there and to be taken to the spots where they performed such heroic actions - places that most tour guides cannot take you. Paul has an ability to put you in the moment so that you feel you are right there in June 1944. If you want to get the real Normandy expereince you MUST take one of Paul's tours.

If you truly want to experience the invasion of Normandy, then you want Paul to lead you. His knowledge of the Battle of Normandy is unparalleled. But he is more than just knowledgeable. He brings an very human side to the tour that you will never get from the other tour guides. We took the two day American Experience tour and felt we were involved with every step of the actual invasion. He has actual intelligence maps, pictures and diaries from many of the veterans that participated in the attack. Through his personal association with 100's of veterans he knows stories that others just can't know. Paul strives to tell the true story no matter whether it follows popular myth or not. You will walk away from these two days with an overwhelming appreciation of the individuals that made D-Day a success. Trust the reviews and experience the time of your life with the D-Day Historian

We recently returned from our 3rd visit to Normandy in 5 years and as always we tour with Paul Woodadge the D-Day Historian. Each time we travel to the area we always tour with Paul. Paul is not a typical military tour where you look at troop movements or as I call it “an X’s and O’s type of tour”. Paul is able to look at the human element of each stop on the tour and tell you about the men who fought there. Be prepared for goose bumps overload as well as some laughter and tears. Paul is great friends with many veterans of WW2 and gives you insight on what they were thinking during the battle that you wouldn’t get from any book or documentary. Paul also has special access to locations that most guides cannot get near. You will not be disappointed…we have not been in the three times we have toured with him.
