Bertrand is one of the best guides in the area. He is an encyclopedia of information and was able to explain the events of June 6, 1944 so my brother and I (who have read extensively and probably seen the Longest Day 10x) were captivated. Our wives had only a smattering of WWII history were quickly brought up to speed and we all ended the day with a profound sense of pride and admiration for the greatest generation. Bertrand goes hard all day with time for photos and a picnic in our rental car which he drove. He is knowledgable, passionate, and the ladies loved his French accent.

We hired Bertrand for a 5 hour guided tour of Normandy, June 2013. Bertrand was an exceptional guide. He made history come alive. There were six of us including two teenage girls. He was skilled in including the girls in the discussions. The only way to really get an understand of the invasion is by hiring a guide. We strongly recommend Bertrand Saudrais.

Bertrand was a highly professional guide, equipped with knowledge and facts interwoven through a narrative which makes the tour one that will never be forgotten.
The story of the beaches, rommels defenses, and insight into the cemeteries are unforgettable. Bertrand tells it like it was so that the images of the day become a part of the memory forever.

Bertrand was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable an friendly.
He is definitely worth the time!! Its hard to see and do everything in Normandy but Bertrand gives you an amazing summary and shows you all the highlights needed.
He is also very willing to show you any personal requests.
I highly highly recommend him.

We had our d-day tour with Bertrand Saudrais on May 22. Bertrand provides an excellent tour. While he has a slight accent, he is very easy to understand. He provides visual tools to help us learn about D-day and the history of the battles. We were on the go all day to get from Utah beach to Omaha beach and many more places.

His tour was well paced, he gave great insight on the battles, he had visual learning tools, and luckily we arrived and the American cemetary just in time for the flag lowering ceremony which was quite emotional.

I would recommend Bertrand to anyone. Our tour was private with just the four of us in the tour. Bertrand used his car and picked us up at the Bayeax train station in the morning and returned us at the end of the day. We stopped for lunch to eat in the car so that we could push on to see more and more.

Thanks so him for all that he did. Our husbands were amazed at the information and intrigued with the dialogue. We all learned a lot. Do not bypass a visit to Normandy and do not bypass getting a good tour guide.
