“Beautiful place to stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

The house is wonderful. Very secure with an easy side entrance with a key pad. Close to everything you would love to see in the charming town. Our bathroom was huge and had been redone recently. Met some lovely people from Norway on a weekend trip at breakfast. Would stay here again!

Room Tip: higher floor has great view off the castle

My wife & I spent 3 days at Le Castel Noble Guest House in September 2012 on the recommendation of a friend; it was everything he had said & more! We had a top floor room at the front of the house with a view of Notre Dame & a huge Art Deco bathroom with a great shower. The house is within easy walking distance of all the Bayeux sights & a short walk to ample parking behind the house.

Breakfast was a lovely way to start the day with guests sitting together around a huge dining table sharing their adventures in what is a room from another era.

Madame speaks little English & we speak little French but we had no problems communicating our requests to her or the other staff. It was a pleasure to stay in her house & as we followed the guest directions regards entry & timings we had an enjoyable stay.

We would happily stay again & highly recommend Le Castel Noble Guest as a non-Hotel style accommodation alternative.

This guesthouse is perfectly situated within walking distance to the tapestry and quaint coffee shops etc.
the room was huge and gorgeous, looking out over a church, and very clean.
I am saddened to see such negative comments re Madame. We have very limited French , but we were travelling in her country, and her lack of English made the experience that bit more authentic. We were able to conduct our business with her and she was extremely patient with us. Toughen up people!!

My wife and I stayed at Le Castel Noble guesthouse for 3 days in September 2012. The location was superb, a short walk from the train station and downtown, just blocks from the Bayeaux Tapestry museum and literally across the street from the Notre Dame de Bayeaux. The picture at the top of this page is the same picture as I was able to take from across the street; it really is that beautiful. The room was large by European standards, and the bathroom larger still, with plenty of hot water and towels. We were lucky enough to have a front facing room that looked out at the Notre Dame and sunsets were spectacular. Breakfast consisting of coffee, tea, juices, yogurts, breakfast pastries, granola, but the real charm was the opportunity to mingle with some of the other guests and share travel stories while prepping for the day. The hostess was accommodating and pleasant and apparently happy to share her home with her guests. All in all a very lovely 3 days in Normandy.

I felt more like I was an inconvenience to them instead of a guest. Bed linens hard and stiff felt like they were super old. 2 drops of water at a time from shower head. Not allowed to use front door. And the only nasty French person encountered in two weeks in France. She was awful. Stay away.

Great location, easy walk from the Bayeux train station..we took a non-stop from Saint Lazare station in Paris. As others have pointed out, the proprietress is not welcoming nor friendly, though she must be competent as the house is clean and well run. Breakfast is minimal, including coffee, tea, granola, yogurt for early eaters, croissants and bread. Ask for room 3, it is up one flight in the back. Large bed- and bathrooms and a small outside terrace with view of the cathedral. We arrived early to drop off backpacks before we explored the town..we're told in no uncertain terms that we were hours before agreed checkin time..but we were shown to our room to drop the bags..and then escorted out. Nonetheless, would stay here again.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in Bayeux. We found the town to be beautiful and enjoyed our 3 full days there. One day was used to take a tour on the landing beaches - and the other days were spent exploring Bayeux - the British Cemetery, the Reporters Memorial, the wonderful Bayeux Cathedral... Walking the old streets of Bayeux was a great experience and you can really encompass much of the town on foot. We really felt that we were not in North America.

The accommodations were good. The location with respect to the train station and Bayeux was excellent. We had a large room on the second floor. Breakfast was continental and adequate. All this being said the lady who runs the place conveys “attitude” – she needs to soften her tone. She treats her customers like a school principal dealing with students. I actually felt that she was in the wrong profession – and did not know the meaning of hospitality- as in Welcome to my Guesthouse. Unlike some of the other reviewers I do NOT feel that this was a language issue. I can understand French and she was treating French customers in the same condescending manner.
