“Close but no cigar!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

We ate dinner at the La Tavern des Ducs during a recent trip to France. The restaurant had been recommended by our tour guide and was close to our hotel. In truth, it was close but not deserving of anyone's recommendation. While the meal was average in every way, the service was bad. This was the only restaurant in the group of eighteen dinners in eighteen different restaurants we ate in France where I the waiter made me feel truly unwanted and totally ignored.

“Only Bad meal in France”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

Arrived after a long drive from Paris. Greeted warmly, however it was all down hill from there
Server didn't crack a smile, food took forever, and it was below "OK" service was horrible,
felt like we were bothering the server. guess tables around us were having the same issues
because they were complaining in "English" to each other and the staff, who did not speak
"English" or so we thought. Later found out that they did understand English but played like they did not. There are many choices in Bayeux to eat don't bother with this one.

“Decent food and not too expensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

The staff could do with a smile transplant, but other than that I can't really complain. Food was well cooked and tasted good. We had 4 very diverse meals from pork knuckle to fish, with soup, deserts and drinks, all for about 25euros a head. Everything was served quickly, although we arrived very early in the evening and there were very few people eating at that time. There were plenty of staff so they were expecting a busy Saturday, however I didn't detect any of them crack a smile, so that was the only downside for me.

“Not match up to their prices”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

We were satying at a hotel just a few yards away from this restaurant and were pleased that we did not have to walk into the city. The menu preasented to us on a black was mainly sea food. The quality was only moderate and it was definitely over priced. Service was WITHOUT A SMILE, and was only provided grudgingly. The Head waiter was mor concerned with money than wiht service. Did not visit for a second time but walked a short distance into the city where we were delighted

“A good choice for weary drivers!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

We were jetlagged and tired after driving from Paris, so we chose des Ducs as a fairly simple place next to our hotel. Nothing stellar, compared to other places in Bayeux, but a reasonable meal.
