“Lots of local interest but average food”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

We decided to eat here because there were lots of locals sitting outside on the terrace enjoying the evening sun as they ate - usually a good sign. The food was perfectly good, just nothing special. It was also a bit fussy for a "tavern" - nothing as straightforward as plain steak frites was on the menu. The plate of three cheeses, was, however, excellent as were the Dame Blanche ice creams.

“Lunch in Bayeux”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

The food was good. However the service was excellent. White linen table cloths, tuxedo staff. We really enjoyed it. Traditional French.

“Annoying -- they add extra items to the check”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Went here for breakfast -- after seeing a sign posted out front advertising the fact that they serve breakfast. Ordered two coffees and two croissants. Also asked for a small glass of tap water in order to swallow a couple of pills I had to take. When the check came, they an item identified as "Adjuvant" was added to the check for the glass of water. We also asked for jam ("confiture") to go with the croissants and they added an extra charge for that. So a simple breakfast of two cups of coffee and a couple of croissants ended up costing the equivalent of $16.

“Good food at a good price”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

We paid just under 15 Euro for 2 courses. We were given a free appetiser and bread. The service was friendly and attentive. The mains and desserts we had were very tasty. My chocolate fondant dessert was special. The house wine was fine.
