We were a group of 8 - 2 families who took the Overlord Tour on June 4, 2012. We were met by our friendly guide at the train station in Bayeux. Our tour started with us standing on Omaha beach looking back at the sand dunes and bunkers where American soldiers fought and died. What an amazing thing to be there in person, to somehow feel the enormity of what our troops went through. Our young people (our children now in their 20's) could begin to understand this military operation through the maps, stories, and explanations given by our Overlord guide. He was very enthusiastic and energetic about the tour, and we were driven from one spot to the next. We were also given time to walk the area if we chose since the tour was based more or less on what we wanted to see & do. The only suggestion is to choose a place to have lunch where it would not be crowded and it would be possible to talk about what each had experienced that morning. We were very pleased with the guide and tour company and would use them again on a different tour.

We were in Le Havre for a one day visit on board Celebrity Constellation during a transatlantic cruise from Southampton to Miami. We booked online with Overlord Tours several months in advance as part of a group of eight of our fellow cruise ship guests. Price was 110 Euro per person, which, I thought, was kind of pricey, even for a full day tour. Little did I know that this was to be THE single most INCREDIBLE (and worthwhile) tour I would experience in my 55 years.

My interest in military history began in 1969 in Ms. Swankee's 6th grade classroom, with a book on World War Two and was a significant factor in shaping my career in military aviation in both the Army AND the Navy.

If you have (or would like to gain) an appreciation for the sacrifices made, by people you never even knew existed, that allow us to enjoy the blessings and opportunities of our freedom, this is a tour you need to experience.

A very comfortable, large, modern van picked us up at the cruise ship terminal in Le Havre right after we were allowed to disembark on December 1st, 2012. Our incredibly knowledgeable guide gave us an overview of the days schedule and pointed out local areas of interest as he drove us the hour and a half to Normandy. The depth and breadth of his knowledge, as well as his ability to present that knowledge in a dramatic and captivating fashion was absolutely mind boggling.

Standing on the sands of Omaha Beach and Utah Beach, or in the fields surrounding Point Du Hoc and Sainte Mere Eglise, and considering the price paid by so many, to turn these places into the peaceful, historical sights they are today, should, hopefully, change anyone's world view.

For those who understand, no explanation is necessary, for those who don't understand, no explanation is possible.

Our guide Olivier was friendly and helpful right from the start. Took us to many sites, let us spend as much time as we wanted at each. Told lots of stories, showed pictures, etc. The tour van was clean and comfortable. We took tour #3, covering a lot of ground.

Our family of 5 and two additional guests took a one day tour of the Normandy Beaches with Olivier of Overlord Tours. What a fantastic day. Olivier was incredibly knowledgeable and took us to sites and shared facts with us that we would never have seen or learned had we tried to do a tour of the area on our own. Christele from Overlord organized the tour and followed up with us every step of the way. We could not recommend this tour more. A very moving and memorable experience.
