We were a group of 8 - 2 families who took the Overlord Tour on June 4, 2012. We were met by our friendly guide at the train station in Bayeux. Our tour started with us standing on Omaha beach looking back at the sand dunes and bunkers where American soldiers fought and died. What an amazing thing to be there in person, to somehow feel the enormity of what our troops went through. Our young people (our children now in their 20's) could begin to understand this military operation through the maps, stories, and explanations given by our Overlord guide. He was very enthusiastic and energetic about the tour, and we were driven from one spot to the next. We were also given time to walk the area if we chose since the tour was based more or less on what we wanted to see & do. The only suggestion is to choose a place to have lunch where it would not be crowded and it would be possible to talk about what each had experienced that morning. We were very pleased with the guide and tour company and would use them again on a different tour.
