“Very good but the menu could do with updating..”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

We make a point of eating here each each trip, 2-3 times a year. Our latest visit was on a surprisingly quiet evening a couple of weeks before Christmas and the food was as great as always with cheerful and helpful service. I just don't understand the negative reviews of this place as we've never had or seen a problem.
Having said how great the food is, we can now order without needing the menu; the offerings haven't changed for a long time and are unfortunately predictable. I understand that the restaurant may have found a formula that works for them but it takes the edge of the anticipation of the dining experience. Hopefully things may change before our next planned visit in June.
Tip: the fixed price menus offer excellent value for money and are very flexible.

“Nice veal n great service!”
Reviewed December 19, 2013 via mobile

This restaurant is just opposite the cathedral and has great service!

Although rated $$$$, the pricing for set menus starts at 15.50 euro for a 3-course meal. The veal was great, so were the oyster and desserts!

“Excellent value and quality”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

This has to be one of the best value restaurants I have ever visited in France. No need to go à la carte as the menu du jour was excellent. Service good despite waitress looking like she was ready to give birth that night.

“C'est fantastique!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013 via mobile

We have been to this restaurant a few times now over the past few years during our annual trips to Normandy, and it never fails to please. The food is absolute excellent, as is the service . We have been as a couple, and the last two years we have taken our 2 boys, now aged 11 and 15 years, and have never had a bad or even mediocre meal. The ambience is lovely and calm without being unwelcoming. We are already looking forward to next October!

“recommended by hotel and not disappointed”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

Hotel Tardif recommended this cozy litlle cafe with views of cobbled stone street and the Bayeux Cathedral. Staff was gracious with very little spoken French on our part. Food was fantastic tasting and well presented. 142euros provided a bottle of wine, bottled water w/ gas, prefix dinner w/ 3 courses. We chose french onion soup, seafood and steak as main dishes. dessert of creme brulee. We also added an alacarte salad as an additional course. Atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed, casual dress. We would definitely recommend and eat here again when in the area next trip.
