The meal galettes are large and nicely formed. I enjoyed a cheese mushroom, ham, and tomato galette and my partner had cheese blood sausage, and onions in his. Lots of delicious fillings.

We shared an apple/caramel beurre sale crepe for dessert which was delicious.

Everything was washed down with a bottle of the only cider they had on offer. It was satisfactory.

Service was slow and it's always annoying at the end to have to wait to pay.

The riverside setting is very pretty though the sun was setting right in our faces and we had to keep shifting. Decent awnings would be a good addition.

We walked by this restaurant on our way to the Bayeux Tapestry. It was so lovely, I knew I wanted to come back and eat dinner there. Thankfully we are usually ready for dinner on the early side. We arrived just as they were opening again for dinner and got a table on the patio by the river. It was a beautiful setting!

The service was great and the food was delicious! It was my first Galette and it was amazing. I had one filled with chicken and mushrooms. The house wine was also good. One of the best meals we had in France - simple and full of flavor.

I would recommend this restaurant 100%! A wonderful find in Bayeux.

Stopped by for dinner on a rainy Sunday after a long travel day and visits to some of Bayeaux's sites. Many of Bayeaux's restaurants are closed on Sunday evenings. Lucky to be seated in the back by the adjacent stream. Very nice setting. Food was decent. Staff was great, including the waiter and someone who seemed to be a manager and waiter. They were friendly, helpful and efficient. Very nice experience.

Went here on recommendation from tour guide. Surly host and server were a real turn-off. Food a little above average but nothing great. Best part is the pretty location, outside next to the canal.

hi thank you for you review, i don't understand you , we keep on smiling with all our customers and we serve only fresh food and cooked all day long. I think you mean you prefer frozen food but that's your choice. Best regards Vincent

This should have been five stars - the very friendly welcome, family run, the great location, good food. It all started so well.

But then the service collapsed. The staff seemed to have vanished and people - lots of people - were looking towards the kitchen for them. One couple actually gave up waiting to order, despite waving for attention, and eventually got up and left. Not good! We ourselves waited patiently 40 minutes between main course and ordering dessert.

And then normal service resumed.

Hopefully it's a one off glitch. We'll come back though as we visit Bayeux annually and hope it was just a bad day in the kitchen.
