Description: The owners Isabelle and Thierry Lhuillery are strongly attached to the region, which displays lot's of famous specialities. Their cooking is both original and typical. The owners know pretty well the local producers, with whom they have been working for many years. When the ingredients are cooked, it is always in the respect of their original flavour, only spices and fresh herbs are added in order to make the best come out of them. Enjoy eating fresh sea food straight from the coast; try our daily raw marinated fish course, or a slice of duck foie gras flavoured with apple fragrances. Don't miss our Normandy beef and duck breast, or our delicate fish dressed with a light cream dressing. Do not also go by, without tasting our local cheeses such as : Camembert, Pont L’Eveque, Livarot or Neufchatel. And finally to put a pleasant end to this perfect meal try a chaudfroid apple dessert... It will be our pleasure to help you choosing in our wine and cider list the most appropriate beverage.

The hotel we were staying in made reservations for us at this restaurant. We were not sure what to expect as it was not highly rated. To our surprise we have a lovely meal and very good service. The menu was very nice and we all enjoyed our meals. The duck with blackberry sauce was enjoyed. Two in our party had the fish which was also good. Nice atmosphere and location in Bayeux near the cathedral. We look forward to returning.

We went there as a couple because we were in Bayeux on the occasion of a wedding anniversary and it was recommended by the French receptionist at our hotel as the " best choice for food".
We thought the food was very good / very French and the service provided matched the food. We had a very pleasant evening appropriate for our anniversary and went away well pleased thanking our receptionist lady the next morning.
There were a number of non- French people there (mostly US and Canadian) but that is the situation throughout Bayeux because of it`s proximity to the Normandy beaches.
We thought the restaurant was excellent and good value for our occasion

After noting both a Michelin and trip Advisor logo in the window, we felt sure we had a winner and booked a dinner reservation. We weren't impressed.
This was the first service we experienced in the week we had been in France that seemed to be lacking in professionalism, verging on indifference.
Two of us ordered steak. It was inedible, so tough it was virtually impossible to chew. The restaurant did remove mine from the bill, but left my friend's on even though she had eaten even less than I had. There were no sincere apologies, which I think most people would generally expect.
The duck breast ordered by the two men in our group disappointed as well, smothered in an orange sauce that completely masked the flavour of the duck.
The escargot appetizers were good, as were the assorted desserts we chose, but they didn't quite make up for the disappointing mains.

This was one of the menu choices and perhaps only the French could turn these ingredients into one of the best dishes I enjoyed during my entire restaurant eating career. Served in a crock and accompanied by pommes frite and mustard, it was beyond delicious! My wife had the Wasabi Rabbit that was spectacular as well. From the entrée to the main course to the selection of Norman chesses to the Crème Brulee from heaven-our meal was a symphony of culinary excellence. Le Pommier has an enviable location right in the center of the old city a stone's throw away from Bayeux Cathedral, and the narrow medieval streets are perfect for a post prandial stroll. If you do not have a reservation, I would recommend getting there right at their 7 o'clock opening time. We witnessed many crestfallen would be diners turned away.

We had an enjoyable dinner and discovered EVERYONE in our dining room was American and had read about this restaurant on Trip Advisor (represented - Detroit, Denver, New York, Chicago, Boston). This is the first time we have seen the strong influence of Trip Advisor so prominently displayed. The food was presented nicely (not overly elaborate) and tasted wonderful. They seated us and several others without reservations.
