On Sundays, many restaurants in Bayeux are closed; so we got reservations here. The menu was good, solid, unexciting. The food was fairly well prepared but nothing that caused any of the four of us much excitement. The vegetable soup, for example, was good but nothing I might not have been able to achieve myself. Our waitress seemed unhappy with the way we set down our forks on the plates once finished, and left us the impression we had somehow put her out. Nevertheless, the wine was adequate, if a bit pricey, the coffee was good; and the tables have beautiful linens and a warm atmosphere, even if overall it does not seem to rise to the expectations the prices and furnishings would give the casual viewer.
