We stayed at the La Maison du Jardin Vauban for a 3 night getaway to Lille booking into the 'Gold' room. It's a beautiful house with artistic touches throughout and the Gold room is stunning. We loved huge comfy bed and almost floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lovely public gardens.
We particularly enjoyed the amazing shower and bath and delicious and plentiful home cooked breakfast (best we've had in France). Raphaelle was a great host and made us feel very welcome. We we're able to come and go as we please which was really good if you're out for the day exploring the city.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay away from a boring hotel, this B&B has personality and style in abundance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and recommend it highly.
The only minor niggles which didn't bother us enough to raise was the room could have been warmer. Also our room wasn't turned down while we were there but this may be standard for French B&Bs (we experienced this elsewhere).
Overall though, this is a gorgeous place to stay and it's ideally located to explore all that Lille has to offer.
