Booked a Eurostar 3 night break. Hotel opposite the Eurostar Terminal so very convenient. This is primarily a functional business hotel, none of the nice little touches of a boutique establishment. There is no residents' lounge and just a small sitting area in the tiny reception. The dining room ,which only appeared to be used for breakfast, is more like a canteen than luxury dining facility. It was useful to be able to leave the luggage at the hotel before and after our stay. The staff were efficient, but not particularly welcoming. The rooms are spotless and very well equipped with flat screen tv, only English speaking channels are news channels, trouser press, iron, ironing board,desk,tea/coffee facilities, complimentary toiletries and bottled water replenished daily, hair dryer, good heating and very quiet. The bed is very comfortable, nice quality bedding but nasty hard, thin towels. The worst aspect o fthe room is the glass bathroom, if you turn the light on, the downlight and flourescent come on at the same time, which disturbs other occupants of the bedroom. The separate toilet is the other side of the bathroom. On the second day we left the hotel at 10.30 and on returning at 3.30 were shocked to find the maid just about to clean the room - not really good enough for a 4* establishment! The cold breakfast buffet was excellent, orange juice particulary good, but the hot buffet was cold and inedible. To sum up good hotel as base for sighseeing, but not very welcoming if you plan to spend a long time in the hotel, other than in your room. If you want to visit the local galleries and museums, they are all free on the first Sunday in the month.

We got this hotel from kayak paying £85 a night bed and breakfast on a Friday and Saturday night which was good value. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfy. Breakfast very good. Location is next to the station - we picked it because it had an underground car park - which is 10 mins walk from town. Lille made for a great 2 nigth break, great restaurants, shopping and museum des Beaux Arts worth a trip.

Stayed at this hotel while travelling though Europe. Saw this hotel when driving in to the City centre. The hotel is in a ultra modern buliding. Inside the hotel is modern and the staff are very helpful. The room was great, comfy bed, large bathroom and kartel ghost chairs! Breakfast is extra but worth paying for. Would stay again if we are ever in Lille.

The best part about the place is the proximity to the Eurostar train station, which is right across the street. The front desk staff was basically indifferent and there was no greeting when we arrived. Mattress was lumpy and soft and bathtub the slipperiest I've seen, with no rubber mat. Air conditioning was inadequate, and no open windows option. Allthough we were told that breakfast service ended on Sunday at 11:00, they began tearing it down a little before 10 minutes tiI 11:00. I was glad we were not staying there longer.

We stopped at this Hotel for a drink on Saturday evening 6th Sept after leaving the Lille braderie. We were hot and tired and just want to sit and have a quiet drink. We tried to sit in a shaded area outside and were told we could only sit there if we were eating. This was at about 4.3o and they were not serving food. We notice several french couples were just sitting with drinks but thought that they may have eaten already so we did not make a fuss. We went and sat in the sun and waited to be served, after about 10 mins of being ignored we noticed that a french couple went and sat in the shaded are and were immediately served. My husand went inside and found the bar and a seating area where some people were sitting with drinks. There was no one at the bar to serve us so my husband went to reception to ask to be served. He was told to go outside and find someone. He declined and said please send someone to serve us. This seemed to work and the waiter came and served us but with very bad grace. I know it was a busy day but manners cost nothing. Also the marked difference between the treatment of the british customers and the french customers left a rather nasty taste. We are going to visit Lille again for a long weekend but will certainly not select this hotel.

After a bad night before stop in London for Eurostar, I decided this time to stop over in Lille instead as it's much more relaxing having been there many times. So as the TGV was at 09:52 I choose the Crown Plaza Hotel which is accross the road from the entrance to Lille Europe. On the outside the Hotel is copper coloured on the outside which previously put me off staying there being away from the old part of the town, but once on the inside it's new modern and very nice indeed,so we checked in and the staff as I have previously said were very professional. We had a standard room(I think is was 316) but when we went in it was massive and very modern and well finished. The bed was huge and so comfortablenever slept so well.A very nice room.
We wen't to the old town in the evening which is no more that a 15min walk and had a great meal.
Breakfast in the morning is in a room looking accross to Lille Europe and even with the morning rush hour you could not hear anything it was so quiet. And the breakfast was very filling.
Would defintely stay gain.
