We moved to Lille two months ago and I was looking forward to go to this Market on a sunday morning.... finally yesterday we had an opportunity to go!
I was so disappointed! There were a few places selling antiques the rest is a big clothes market....a mess!!! The food market is nice and has lots of fresh fruits and vegetables....but so crowded!!!!
We ran away.... definitely don't spend your time going there!! impossible to walk around.

In south Louisiana, we have boudin but it's basically one type of boudin. Cajun. It all looks and tastes pretty much the same. This market has such a variety of foods, from produce, to meat, to seafood, bakery items, and cheeses. You'll want to buy more than you can eat. The boudin case must have had two dozen variations: white, black, and shades in between with ingredients one wouldn't think to include (were those raisins?). And the sausages and cheeses....like horse sausage and Pesto Gouda...yum. Outside the market, on Sunday, the street vendors sell locally produced flowers, meats and cheeses that are just wonderful. Lots of rotisserie chicken, and the cheap imported junk booths, but there were some real artisans too. For brunch we had something that was sauteed beef with seasoning veggies (onions, peppers, etc.) and an egg, wrapped in Phyllo dough and then fried. Talk about good.
An adventure for the pallet, this place is.

Most crowded in Sunday morning, the market will be a good experience. Here you can buy almost everything, but nothing really special. If you are a fan of bio-products, you can find here also many local farmers who sell their own products.

For those who are interested in things like exotic foods and clothes it worth a visit. I went to see some books and objects, but I did't find too many options. I think it's a good option for a Sunday morning.
