This came from totally left field, it was worth the trip just for the contents of the art gallery. There are three huge Rubins, Van Gogh, Turner and Bosch and lots of other gobsmacking art. Apparently this was a collection that started as a result of a guy named Napoleon touring in various fascinating places meeting new people and killing them. As they were deceased he decided that they no longer needed their art collections, so said Napoleon added it to Lille's artefacts. If in Lille don't miss it. If you travelled by Eurostar you get entry for two people for the price of one, just show your train ticket.
