“This was a fairly small museum with bags of local interest”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

We found this museum to be very interesting as it showed us how homes were in olden times in Lille. It only takes an hour to get round and is very central and worth a visit. Entrance is free on the first Tuesday of the month.

“Nice and interesting”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

This museum was very nice according to me, because the inside interiors of the chambers are interesting to see. Old paintings, old walls decorated with wood, old furniture, it all is very cool and reminded me of Harry Potter interiors. The price is very good and you can spent there about an hour. I would recommend this one!

“Acces impeded by broken lift.”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Beware if you have limited mobility. Cobbles are a challeng to walking adis and weelchairs. Access ramp slippery. Person supervising the contemporary art exhibition was excellent. The first floor exibition, once the guardian of the lift had been summoned, was intresting and the attendant valiently did his best to help me compare the "torches" of the guilds with the club walkings in England.

The "Three" rating reflects more the access than the content available to the more able.

“Worth a look”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Nice little museum, the building and courtyard are pleasant and its worth paying the extra for the audio guide. It is a shame that some of the rooms do not contain original pieces but there is enough to keep to occupied. As mentioned by a previous reviewer sign posts need to be improved so you can easier find the toilet which is actually through another exhibition and the actual office.

“This is better than fois-gras and it's free (kind of)”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

"The best things in life are free" is a saying that can be halfway applied to Musee Hospice because you have to pay to enter, but you can still enjoy pieces of heaven in the Musee's courtyard for free - a perfect little botanical garden well kept by a diligent nun's hands - so old yet so perfect - like Musee Hospice itself. Another piece of heaven is of course blue Flemish tiles that you can see through the window or up close if you are fast enough to escape the diligent guard's eye. Musee Hospice is in many ways like other convents while still remaining unique- it's unmissable attraction of Lille which is itself in may ways like a convent. PLEASE visit it!
