It is really close to the eurostar station and easy to find (located on the main street) nearby the shopping centre and a carrefour supermarket. And it's only a short walk to the lovely main square. The staff are helpful and polite and the breakfast was ample and decent. It was good quality and just focused on the popular items: crossaints, pan au chocolat, toast, boiled eggs, cereals, yoghurts, along with a selection of juices, and coffees, and hot chocolate. I think it was very ample and of good quality. I have been to so called five star hotels and their breakfast had too many items, which were by no means the same quality as Hotel Lille Europe. I would definitely stay there again, due to the good location and price.

The internet was a bit funny at times, and you need to register first, they have a nice lounge area, which is almost always empty, it has a tv there as well. So it's nice to go there and relax. It's on the first floor where the breakfast is served. The receptionist gave us all the information we needed and even gave us a map, when she overheard my friend and I looking for one. It definitely surpasses it's 2 star category in my opinion.

What at first glance might seem an odd location - between the main station and the city centre - the Hotel Lille Europe is perfectly situated quite literally 200 metres from both!
The hotel easily surpasses its 2 star category with clean and comfortable accomodation, spotless bathrooms, a minibar (at 2.50 Euros per drink - not bad) Philips flat screen TV and plenty of wardrobe space. A delicious continental breakfast is available in the hotel restaurant which overlooks the Avenue le Corbusier.
Right next door is the huge EuroLille shopping mall and there are a dozen or more cafes and restaurants within 300 metres. What else would you want? The second station, Gare de Lille Flandres, is 150m away where you can jump on a TGV or SNCF to pretty well anywhere. Just 5 to 10minutes further on
Doubtless, there are always some who manage to moan about something wherever they go but only a real nit-picker will find fault with this place, particularly on the special package prices offered using EuroStar.
Other have written about the summer heat in the rooms (there's no air-con). Solution? close the drapes during the day and open the window at night! We did on a 28 degree day, and had no problem sleeping at night. Job done. Have a great time.

Just returned from a long weekend stay with the girls and this hotel is in an excellent location literally two minutes from the Eurostar terminal and five minutes from the centre of town. The shopping mall below the hotel, including the Carrefour supermarket, is extremely handy but beware that it is completely closed on a Sunday. The hotel staff spoke English and were very helpful and breakfast was fresh and filling. The rooms are slightly dated and the showers are a bit hit and miss but its the heat thats really the issue. The whole hotel is warm as there is no air conditioning so our philiosophy was to spend as little time there as possible! Overall - value for money.

Could not believe how close this was to Eurostar. We did worry about the noise but there was no need, the soundproofing at the hotel was perfect. The only down side was how hot the room was. It was not a particularly hot weekend and I dare to think how hot the room would be then. We obtained a fan from reception which was a blessing. The rooms are basic, clean (nice white sheets), small mini bar/fridge (all drinks 2.50E), sachets of shower gels and a not so good shower in our room (600). Breakfast was typical continental - cold boiled egg, ham, brie, yoghurt, fruit, croissants, bread, cereals and plenty of tea and coffee. Reception very friendly. Was surprised with the amount of beggars with children and lots of dogs - very sad.
We went on the city tour which was quite informative although this was through headphones on the coach rather then a guide. Had the customary Moules, Frittes and beer. A nice weekend away before starting another week at work!

Just 100m from the Lille Europe train station, we quickly arrived for our two night stay at this hotel. Greeted by an English speaking Receptionist, our room (not unexpectedly as it was only about 10:30 am) was not ready, but with our luggage stored safely away in the luggage store this left us free to explore Lille. Returning after a delicious lunch, we were directed to our twin room on the 4th floor and we were pleasantly suprised both at the amount of room and the cleanliness - with a large bathroom, including bath, shower, hairdryer and plenty of towels. There is also a mini bar which included water and soft drinks (much cheaper to buy these at the supermarket downstairs)! The only downside was the heat (we were there during the 'heatwave' in early July) as there was no air conditioning and although one window opened wide, there was no breeze to be felt. A tip would be to ask at Reception for a fan (we saw several being returned when we were checking out and hadn't thought to ask). The breakfast buffet was very good, cereals, croissants, danish pastries, bread rolls, and bread with a toaster if you wanted toast, also cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs and yoghurts. Also available were the usual fruit juices, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Once again the only downside was the heat - the breakfast room is surrounded by huge glass windows, so whilst providing a great view and good for 'people watching' it was unbearably hot while we were there.
The following day we were off to Arras (to see Prince in concert at the Citadel) from the Lille Flanders station again just 100m away in the opposite direction. Everything went smoothly and it was easy to buy a ticket and find the right train. On our return in the early hours of the next morning there were several homeless people sleeping on the pavements between the station and the hotel, they were not threatening at all, although I may have felt differently about walking through them had I been alone.
The hotel is above a huge shopping mall, with all sorts of shops and restaurants, and at last we found some relief in the food aisles of the big Carrefour supermarket - I think they wondered why we were loitering near the freezers!!
All in all a fantastic trip, made even better by our stay here - great value for money - we booked through Eurostar shortbreaks and paid £95 per person for return train travel from London + the two night stay.
