“Good location for Eurostar but otherwise pretty rubbish”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

Many people stay here for a night or two because they need to get to the eurostar the next morning. It's true, it close to the train stations, but then Lille is small most places are pretty close and they have much higher standards.

This is the kind of hotel where the customer is considered a bit of an inconvenience. Service isn't rude per say but it's all geared towards doing the minimum they have to.

Rooms are basic and not always very clean. Many smell of smoke, there was a dodgy stain in my bedding, horrible brown stains all round the loo.

If you need wifi or Internet, go somewhere else - despite what they say, this place is notorious for basically being about 10 years behind in terms of things like Internet. On one occasion I saw about 5 people sitting on the floor of the corridor as one of them had just managed to get a brief Internet signal. There is an Ethernet cable in the rooms but that never seems to work for anybody.. I have had to go and ask them to reset the Internet every time I've been here and in 5 years it still hasn't improved.

The rooms are rarely ready before 3pm so if you get in early this isn't a great place for you.

It is 5 minutes walk to the old town of Lille which is lovely, but then why not stay in a decent hotel there? You're still 5-10mims walk from the Eurostar and many are not much more expensive but far better quality.

I come to Lille a lot with work and you can always hear an audible groan when we are told we're staying at Lille Europe. The location just isn't worth it, it continues to be a mystery how this place could have 3 stars.

Hotel looks as if it has recently been refurbished. Friendly welcome on arrival and we were allowed in our room at 10 am. Room clean although net curtains a little dusty. No tea making facilities and no hot drinks available in the hotel other than at breakfast. Problem for us as everything in Lille closed down at 8 pm on Monday evening so we had to make do with water we had bought in the supermarket. Mini bar in room with cans of fizzy drinks and one bag of crisps. Room nice and warm and large bed, although a tad too hard for my liking. Breakfast excellent. A continental buffet of cereals, bread, croissants, ham, cheese, eggs, yoghurt, fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea, coffee, chocolate. Hotel located directly over the top of the Eurolille shopping centre and less than five minutes from the railway station. A little road noise with the window open but not enough to be a problem. Good for a budget hotel.

Stayed a night in this hotel and was really close to the Eurostar terminal and shops/bars in Lille.
Staff\were friendly and breakfast was good - nice settign for this overlooking Lille.
Room was pretty small and the beds even smaller but were ok for this price hotel.

Super location when travelling with public transport. Very good price/value balance. Nice staff at counter (thank you P&S!). Room simple but clean and good functioning. Best shower water pressure ever had! Walking distance centre city.

Stayed here for 3 nights and had a very positive experience. Would definately go back. Rooms are modern, clean and tidy. Didn't take advantage of the breakfast so can't comment there. If you are looking for a more traditional Flemish experience would advise looking elsewhere as this is part of the new Euralille complex which is all modern architecture (the hotel is built into a shopping mall). The town centre and train stations are 5 mins walk away. My only criticism would be the moderately busy road outside. The windows were well insultated so minimal noise pollution got through. With it being November I wasn't inclined to open the window however in summer I would be and this could mean being woken up by traffic.

We had a long weekend stay in Lille and decided to stay at this hotel as it is super close to the Eurostar terminal and only a few minutes walk from the city centre. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with good bathroom facilities including a powerful hairdryer (much to my liking). The Breakfast room on the first floor is great for people watching and we enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast each morning, as much as you can eat croissants, ham, cheese, baguette, egg and a variety of cereals, yoghurts etc... the coffee is really good too. The only down side is that they advertise free Wi-Fi but we rarely had any signal and when we did it was so slow there was no point in using it. When we mentioned it at reception they responded with "we have troubles with it". Overall a great good hotel to stay at for a long weekend. One word of warning though, there is a vagrant who lives under the bridge only 100metres away and he screams and yells throughout the early morning hours... not much different from anywhere really.

The hotel was very close to the station which was very convenient, but it did not have a bar or lounge, which meant you had to leave the hotel for a drink also the hotel Wi-Fi did not work. If I went to Lille again I would not stay that this hotel because the amenities are very poor.
