We stayed here for the weekend and got a good rate through Expedia. Walk from the far end of Lille Europe train station - furthest end of the concourse - do not go out of the main exit - and you will be at the hotel in 5 minutes.
Upside is that bedrooms are light, clean and comfy and hotel staff are helpful. The attached casino is not exactly classy - rows of slot machines and a few card tables, but you can safely ignore it if you are in Lille for shopping, eating out and sightseeing.
15 minutes to walk to the old town, which is pleasant to wander around. Breakfast tip - if you are not a big eater and cannot handle the full breakfast buffet, walk into the old town and go to French patisserie, Paul - just off the main square. Other cheap eats would include the various creperies and for a fuller meal, head towards the Avenue of the Purple Pope where there are some cozy restaurants with 3-course set menus. We would also recommend the bus tour which goes on the hour from outside the tourist office and costs Euros 11 per person, lasts 50 minutes to give you a good overview of the city centre. Also, the fine arts museum is second only to the Louvre in terms of range of artworks - take the free audioguide in your language.
Lille is ideal for a weekend visit and has lovely period architecture. It is also way less crowded than Paris, but you can do Lille in two full days, whereas Paris is worth lingering longer.

Room Tip: Higher floors = better views, of course

Very nice hotel modern, comfortable and the rooms are vey nice .The staff are all friendly and helpful and its good fun to try and speak a little french to them. The only criticism I would make would be that the bar prices are vey expensive and the hot breakfast is not up to standard for the price charged.

We only stayed at this hotel because the Eurostar wasn't operating due to heavy snowfall. After a long day this hotel was a welcome respite and provided all that we needed.
The rooms are lovely, plenty of lighting options and a bed which is so comfortable it was a real struggle to make myself get up in the morning!
Lovely deep bath complete with rainforest shower again a real positive.
Bedrooms have lovely large windows which, being on the top floor, gave a great vista of a snow capped Lille.
Unfortunately to the snow causing a delay in deliveries the food options were more limited than normal I gather but there was still enough to choose from.

We decided on a whim to spend a week-end in Lille and decided to try Hotel Lucien Barriere as it seemed very nice. We booked a panoramic suite and we were not disappointed.
The hotel is conveniently situated, we had no issue to park our car. Check-in was very efficient, we were quickly showed to our suite. The staff informed us about the possibilities for dining.
There are just a few panoramic suites in this hotel, they are located in the angles of the building.
The suite was very large, and the original design suited our taste. It was spotless, king bed was huge and comfortable. The lounge area was nice, there were amenities such as nespresso coffee. The bathroom was huge, with a bathtub, an italian shower as well, slippers and bathrobes were a nice touch.
The room was super quiet, we never heard anything.
We decided to dine at the Brasserie and try the buffet. They had a special buffet because it was the week-end after Valentine"s day, so the food was exquisite, we really enjoyed our meal.
The breakfast buffet in the morning was great too, with a lot of choice.
All in all, we had an excellent experience at Lucien Barriere hotel, and we'll certainly come back.

Room Tip: Try the panoramic suites, you will not be disappointed

We have just come back from a short break in Lille for my birthday. As time was short, we didn't want to waste time traveling between the station and our hotel, do being only 2 minutes from the terminal on a really cold February day was fantastic!
Our room was spacious and very comfortable with lovely toiletries and a kettle, Evian and coffee sachets provided - something not all French hotels do. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and the curtains so thick that we slept almost until check out time!
We managed to cram in a trip to the sauna and hammam - we were the only ones there and a quick visit to the casino, which was entertaining. We never managed to use any of the bars or restaurants.
Walking to Old Lille was an easy 10 minute walk through the EuraLille shopping centre with a very useful Carrefour only minutes away from the hotel. The shopping centre has a good variety of high street stores and a great Lego shop our son would have loved!
Definitely a smart and comfortable hotel that was a real treat but wouldn't have been worth the €325 rate advertised in the hotel reception. Much better rates available online from the UK.

Great hotel. As others have said it's a short walk (less than 10 minutes) from from the Eurostar station. Make sure you get the right exit! It's a 10 minute walk from the town centre.
Staff were extremely helpful with directions, help with dinner reservations and other requests. The bar and the brasserie are both OK. Rooms are really quiet and as others have said where do the pillows come from? The best ever. We travel a lot and have never found pillows like this.
Will return.

Room Tip: We were on the 8th floor. Didn't hear a thing.

An excellent modern hotel to use as base for exploring Lille and the surrounding countryside. We arrived at lunchtime and the Reception staff allowed us to check-in early and even escorted us to our room. The air con was on in the room which made it warm and cosy. Just what was needed when we arrived frozen from the chilly weather. Ensuite had spacious shower, complimentary toiletries and bathrobes. The tea and coffee tray was replenished twice a day by the very efficient housekeeping staff. Who also supplied an extra sheet when we found the quilt on the bed to be too warm. Delicious breakfasts with a wide variety of food to suit all tastes. However avoid the tea at breakfast - french teabags and lukewarm water not a good way to start the day! Tea tray in room had better quality teabags.
Free Wifi in room much appreciated.
If you arrive on Eurostar walk the length of the station and leave by the back exit and climb the stairs - hotel is 3 mins walk across the main road.
We also took a local train to Lens to visit The Louvre. Train tickets were cheaper at ticket counter than self service machines. .

Room Tip: Hotel is on a main road but very efficient double glazing means no traffic noise.
