Quai 38 is located in a not-so-charming just-off-city-centre steet, but once inside, there's only accolades that come to mind. The decor is very pleasing, the waiter/waitresses are very friendly, charming and courteous. Regulars are greeted with a kiss and the atmosphere is cozy.
The food is simply fantastic. We skipped the first course and were blown away by the main course: 1) tuna in a sesame crust and 2) seabass in a scrumptuos cream sauce, both accompanied by a very tasty spiced rice and fresh vegetables. Not complicated, but extremely fine cuisine, well presented. Desserts: out of this world. Poached pear in red wine sauce and a soufflé with Grand Marnier. A big thank you, especially to Laure, for making us feel so welcome!

My wife and I had an awesome dinner here. It's a beautiful restaurant and the food is delicious. The menu is not very large but there is something for everyone. And it's nice that the tables are not crammed next to each other. Service was excellent, very friendly too. Would love to go back.

Arrived on a Thu evening around 19:30 and the restaurant was completely empty.
Nothing to worry however as rapidly after it had a pleasant occupacy.
The owners were very helpfull and full of pride for the first class fish and seafood they had on offer. We really enjoyed all of it.
First place I ever had a rum baba as dessert where the bottle of rum came on the table for self-service...

Great place with brilliant food and friendly staff. Little bit out of town but a nice 15 to 20 minute walk and well worth it.

We visited the Saturday before Xmas. Lille was heaving with people. The weather was awful. Quai 38 is a 15 minute walk from the center of town and I would recommend walking because Lille is a charming place much neglected by tourists.
Qua 38 is a well run restaurant. The manageress sees to that. Her English is good. Her smile and enthusiasm warm and friendly.
The ambience is relaxing with shades of grey and white cotton drapes separating the dining area.
One comes here to eat fish. The menu changes according to what's available. Their fishmonger drives in daily from the coast so everything is fresh. We ate grilled razor clams with salsa and they were outstanding. Then followed scallops in different variations, lobster with a delicious couscous pilaf and finally tuna rolled in sesam seed with salad. All dishes were cooked to perfection. The portions are generous. We didn't order desert as we were satisfied and decided to enjoy our contentment.
The wine card is small with exclusively French wines. Prices are reasonable.
