Took a party there a dozen or so years ago for an office luncheon and retained fond memories so was pleased to see on TA that it appeared to have remained the same. Unfortunately this was not the case very recently. Only realised afterwards that just the a la carte menu was offered although 3 seem available at lunch on the web site.Although the service was reasonable the almost empty and cold room lacked any atmosphere and the dishes and ingredients did not warrant a Eurostar hike. In a street full of restaurants few seemed partly full so maybe the locals know something.Of course cooking in the UK has shot ahead over the last few years so we must cease being seduced by a cuisine that seems unwilling to innovate. The French seem to agree and I recommend one hits the French language reviews to see what they are saying about La Cave.

I love Lille and have visited the city a few times now but this was the first time dining at the la cave aux fioles, but I hope not the last! I had the Salmon starter withe the duck for main both were superb combined with great wine and a fantastic abeyance nearly a perfect meal, the service was a little slow but as we were enjoying ourselves it wasn't really a problem. The bathroom was a bit different not quite unisex but very close so not for everyone but don't let this put you off trying then food!

We were two couples visiting lille for the weekend, & had seen this restaurant earlier on & liked the look of it, in street full of quirky bars & places to eat, we were glad we chose la cave aux fioles, great atmosphere, staff were attentive & very welcoming. Food was delicious & a good time was had by all.
I would definitely return again to this restaurant & lille in general

This restaurant was recommended to us by friends but as we walked up the street to its location we were so nearly tempted into a number of inviting restaurants, wine bars and bistros. A great street for gastronomy! Nevertheless we stuck with the recommendation and weren't disappointed. We opted for the MUST menu as the starters in the set menu weren't appealing to us. We decided to share a salmon saint jacques which was absolutely sublime. And more than enough for two of us. I then had rump steak or main which was cooked to perfection followed by the best creme brûlée I have probably ever tasted! The interior of the restaurant is beautiful with characterful features from the 17th and 18th century and a stunning indoor courtyard. Well worth a visit. Closed Sundays though so be warned!

We booked on the Friday for the Saturday evening, which we knew would be busy. We did arrive on time but had to wait for our first course but it seemed you had your table for the evening so it was a case of settle down relax and enjoy.
The food had a home cooked feel and was lovely, even my daughter who can be fussy loved her fish dinner. The staff were
easy to communicate with even allowing us to speak our french without replying in english, were helpful and pleasant.
Cosy inside and restful and not rushed as we had been the night before.
