Most other reviews sum it up. A clean hotel, friendly staff, right next to the railway station. Basic rooms, but functional and clean. Wafer thin carpets and slightly industrial feel about it -similar level to Ibis or Etap (if that still exists).
It lacks charm or sophistication or personality...but for the price, you can't fault it.

Neighbourhood at night felt slightly shady with people loitering and lots of police patrols. But I was very comfortable during the day.
I would happily stay there again.

We stopped for one night at this hotel in Dunkirk on our way to stay in Caen for a World War II memorial journey, visiting D-Day beaches and museums. We included the Dunkirk one-night stop on our itinerary for its historical significance in the extraction of British and French troops early in World War II, and we wanted to see the Dunkirk memorial museum, which was worthwhile for those interest in the war history. We selected this B&B Hotel in Dunkirk for the overnight stay based on price and other reviews on TripAdvisor. The room itself was clean and the bed comfortable, but the room is very basic: no washcloth, no soap bar (just squeeze liquid soap dispenser in the shower), no bath (but good shower), no facial tissues, etc. but the price is a very good value for a good night's sleep. The biggest negative was the neighborhood. The hotel is right across the street from the train station, which some would say is very convenient, but it is also a run-down environment with unsavory characters walking around and begging for money. The entire town, in fact, is not attractive, but again, we were not there for the boulevards, but for the historical significance of Dunkirk and the museum. The hotel staff is very friendly and speaks English. The breakfast is a basic continental breakfast, but well worth the 6 Euros. One other note: we arrived early on a Sunday evening, but no restaurants were open. We had to settle for a pizza and taco shop next door (that's where we were introduced to the beggar going from table to table -- unless you are inclined t help him, a good response is "Je ne parle pas francais"). In summary, this is a clean, basic, friendly and convenient location, but be prepared for a room that is the equivalent of an American 2-star but clean motel.

Our first night on my birthday trip and we decided to stay in Dunkerque and head to the Operation Dynamo museum the next day. We wanted something not too expensive and found this hotel easy enough via the maps app on my phone. It was a bit more difficult as Dunkerque is undergoing a major road/public space upgrade at the moment so there were lots and lots of roadworks with barriers all over the place. The hotel was right opposite the main train station. The area wasn't pretty by any means but it was certainly a travel hub. We parked literally 2 minutes away on the road. There were lots of parking spaces, and a public car park was a little bit further away, about 8 minutes walk. This was free, but I'm not sure if that was only while the roads were being worked on. We were greeted warmly by the young man on the desk and checked in without any problems. Our room was on the 3rd floor. The lift was spacious and quick and the public areas and corridors were well lit and clean. Our room overlooked the road by the bus station but we heard no traffic noise at all. Everything was spotlessly clean. We were glad we had taken soap with us as the only soap was in a dispenser in the shower. We asked Clement at the desk for a recommendation for somewhere near to eat, we had only seen a kebab shop on the way in. He was very helpful and suggested a restaurant on a boat, the Princess Elizabeth, which was by the water. We followed his suggestion and had a fantastic meal here (see review). We had just the best night sleep on a very comfy mattress, but would've liked perhaps another pillow in the room however I'm sure if we'd bothered to call reception they would've provided this. Lovely, clean and convenient hotel for everything in the town. Well worth the very reasonable price, with lovely, friendly staff.

We spent our last night in France at this hotel. It was clean and relitively new the bed was ok but the pillows were poor and as a result found it hard to sleep. There was street parking but there was some unsavoury characters hanging around which was worrying. There was no tea making facilities in the room. There is a vending machine but if you like your tea with milk you are out of luck.

we needed a room that slept 2 adults and 2 children and this hotel supplied. Parking is free out side and the corridors and room were very clean. wifi good and breakfast was cheap. Staff spoke English and very friendly. Also it is walking distance to the station, and mall with Mcdonalds and about 2 miles to the beach

Cannot think of any reason not to give it a 5 star for the price we paid.
