Stayed for 2 nights. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and very secure parking that cost €9 per day. Excellent location near plenty of eateries. Will stay there again. We were in a room that should have cost €75-115 per night but booking.com got it for us for€55.

Room Tip: Use booking.com for best price. €130 for 2 nights with secure parking.

we stayed at this hotel in feb, we just needed a central location to the ferry so this suited our needs. On arrival we were welcomed by the receptionist. a lovely young lady who spoke quite good English and was very helpful. We had a room on the 4th floor at the back, basic but clean and tidy and very quiet. My only gripe would be that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in room. We parked in the street 2 euros for 2 hours upto 6 pm then free till 9am. The receptionist recommended a restaurant for our evening meal which we booked as it was valentines day. that was quite pleasant. We did not have breakfast as we were catching a ferry but on arriving at Dunkirk ferry port and told we were going to be delayed we wished we had, refreshments at the port consists of vending machines, very poor.

We stayed one night at the Dunkerque Welcome hotel. The night clerk had good basic English, was helpful, but not very friendly. The morning clerk tried to be helpful but had limited English. I guess if we want to be understood we should learn French! :)

There is a lift, always a good thing!

Our room was basic but clean with two single beds that we easily pushed together to make a double. The bathroom was clean with basic amenities. Hotel parking was full so we had to park on the street. There was traffic noise early in the night and church bells could be heard tolling with the window open, room was quiet with window closed. According to info in the hotel it had been refurbished in 2012 and our room still looked new.

The bathroom was clean but the toilet didn't flush completely. All the big, important stuff went down fine but there was always a little paper floating after a flush. Not a big deal since everything else flushed ok.

About 10 p.m. my wife was standing by the door when she heard a key slide into the lock and the door opened a bit. She pushed it closed forcefully, then reopened it just a bit. A man, one of two standing in the hall, showed her a key similar to ours and said something in French. My wife replied, "I don't speak French." The man then said something like, " I think the man at reception made a mistake." My wife replied "I think so too." and the men left. We had not yet put out the Do Not Disturb sign. No one else tried to enter our room. Looking at other reviews I see a similar mistake was reported in the review for 24 August 2013.

My wife complained about the key issue the next morning--to a different desk clerk--and we were given a discount on the room.

Breakfast was a nice lay out of cold cuts, cheeses, rolls, juice, coffee etc.

I gave this 4 stars because it was reasonably priced for a basic hotel. Had it not been refurbed lately, or more expensive, I would have given less stars.

I'm not sure if we would use this hotel again or not, due mostly to the security and parking
issues.

We booked this hotel for it's location which was very good. Room was clean and comfortable. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn't bother with breakfast at 9 euros. We used this hotel as a base for sightseeing in the car. We parked in the street without any problems as we were out every day but hotel parking was available if we needed it. A couple of excellent bistros nearby for good quality meals.

Arrived at hotel asked for parking when booking was told parking was full so we had to park on street. We watched someone back into our brand new BMW and drive off so beware!! given key was not told our number tried the number room we thought it was and it opened the door someone was already in the room we went back downstairs receptionost told us it was bis finally got to room plastic flooring smell in bathroom no tea making facilities and very hot
Noise outside at night was extraordinary so that mixed with the bump to the car and the heat we had little sleep. All in all would not stay again.

Disappointed that restaurant was closed for dinner but room was good size with decent bathroom, clean and well appointed. Served its purpose perfectly for our needs, we used it a base for seeing Belgium. More than adequate breakfast. Staff made us welcome but our little bit of French helped. Handy for bars and restaurants in Dunkerque town centre and only 15 minutes from motorway network.
