“Basic, overnight stop. City Centre location.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

Wanted an overnight stop near to the Dunkerque ferry port. This is about 14 miles away and therefore fit the bill for a 10am sailing. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and rooms fine. This is right in the city centre and the noise of people (drunk) and traffic went on most of the night. We live in the country so this made sleep difficult. I was also concerned about vehicle security as I had to park the car in the street. I had booked hotel secure parking but when I arrived I was told that the car with a cycle on the roof wouldn't go in the garage - although I had made all this clear on the booking. Be mindful also that we arrived at 9pm and the wasn't much open in that district to get food and the hotel restaurant was closed. All in all this is fine for what it is, but we wouldn't stay again, mainly because of the location. Breakfast a little dear at €9.

Access was good, the reception was run efficently and we were in our rooms within ten minutes of stepping through the door of the hotel. We did not opt for breakfast during our stay this had nothing to do with what the hotel had to offer it was down to ecconomics we were heading on the Belgium in the van to buy as much beer as we could get in the back of it.
The rooms were clean and fresh with everything you need for a comfortable one night sto. The shower unlike some hotels we have stayed in worked well, the beds were comfortable and as usual we had to use our inflateable travel pillows (hotel pillows are always like wads of cotton wool and even if they provide two always sink to mattress level) they really are the difference between a good nights sleep and a bad.
The bar offered a modern open and comfortable social area and when we returned from our walk round the town had a realaxing couple of drinks.
The town of Dunkerque is samll and quiet well it was when we were there. We got in around 9pm on a Monday. Its a small town with not a lot to see unless you have an interest in the history of the first world war and the graveyards.

Room Tip: watch out for the parkking meters they are free after 6 pm but you will need to top them up by 9 the...

Stayed for one , en transit, paid €89 plus another €9 for parking. Calibre of Hotel would be at best in the €40 mark. Clean, quiet, just very over-priced.

Only stayed here one night. It was clean and quiet. The rooms were small and basic but functional. The staff were very friendly. I would probably look for a better hotel next time.

It was a very cosy stay and the staff was very much helpful. The rooms were posh and no problem of water, etc. Dinner was also great from the in house restaurant. Would like to come back whenever I visit this city. It was kind of a home away from home for me where I stayed close to 5 weeks.

Small town, staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant staff were prompt and breakfast was good (cold meats, croissants, cereals etc).
My room had a musty smell about it, room was generally clean, but the carpets are quite old and dirty.
The bed was two singles joined (my pet peave) but otherwise not too bad a room if you are on business for a couple of days.
Central location (right on main st) and near the port.
