“Less atmosphere than the moon...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

Good staff. Decent value. Lousy location. Went here for a short stay to visit the battlefields - so that box ticked. Would have been good to find a decent restaurant/bistro withih waling distance. OK for one night I guess but the place has less atmosphere than the moon.

Room Tip: Hotel fine. Everything worked. Staff helpful and friendly .... just a real lousy location.

We stayed 2 nights and were very pleased with the hotel. It is excellent value for the money. Our room had a small kitchen with a refrigerator. It was spotlessly clean. The staff were charming and helpful. The hotel is not far from the beach and near the centre of Dunkerque, and there is some interesting architecture nearby.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side have a nice view.

We stayed over on Friday night, upon arriving we parked opposite to check in and get the secure underground car park pass (€7 per night) we noticed a lot of young people gaming around a warehouse type building and could hear some music, we thought it was a youth club and would be finished by 10:00pm, however it turned out to be a night club and you could hear the beat from the music in our room which was opposite. Normally I would ask reception to move us to the back but reception closes at 9:00pm so we was stuck!

The room was modern and clean, but the bed was very hard and pillows were flat we had one each and no extras in the closet, when we went for a shower and removed the towel to place on the tiled floor before stepping in the towel rail at the back of the door fell off It was just screws in to thin cardboard the doors are made from, 2 sets of holes so it has happened before. The shower pole that holds the head was far to low for me I'm 6ft1" and had to angle it high so water went everywhere! Turn on the water pressure too high and the shower head moves towards the wall because the pole itself is loose and cannot be tightened.

All seems like a little lack of care and attention and poor build quality let's it down. Very nice little kitchenette in the comfort suites bring your own filter coffee as no standard kettle like the rest of the world! The French must hate instant coffee and tea??

We booked 2 nights for a long weekend, and were very pleased with the hotel.
We stayed in a "comfort" room which was spotlessly clean and roomy. The staff were absolutely charming, and extremely helpful, recommending restaurants and places to visit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall I would recommended this hotel as it is great for an overnight stop with spacious clean rooms, secure garage parking and within walking distance of the town centre.

We stayed at this hotel on the first and last night of our holiday for the convenience of the Dunkirk ferry which is approx 8 miles away. The check in staff are very friendly and speak good English.

We travel on motorbikes and always look for secure covered private parking, which this hotel offers. The garage parking is directly underneath the hotel and is accessed via a secure gate. Parking only costs 5€ per night which we thought was really reasonable. Lifts from the garage take you to reception or your hotel floor.

The Hotel offers breakfast, but we never had this due to the times we were travelling but it looked reasonable.

We payed 69€ for a twin room for one night which we though was good value. The room itself was very clean and modern had a kitchenette area which consisted of a microwave oven (inc grill), a hot plate, full sized fridge and sink. The cupboards contained all of the pans, glasses, crockery and cutlery you needed if you wanted to eat in. There was even a tea towel (however no washing up liquid!). there isn't a kettle or tea/coffee included.
The room was spacious and had twin beds a table and chairs, lounge chair and shelving. The bathroom was also spacious with a bath with shower over – complimentary toiletries included soap and shower gel.
The windows had only net curtains, this was not a problem as there were roller shutters on the windows for night time.
The location of the hotel is right on a dock. It is about a 10 minute walk into the centre of Dunkirk were you will find a variety of restaurants and pubs etc. We did find the bars quite expensive with a pint and a half costing 9.80€ which is quite steep.

Room Tip: corner rooms have dual window aspect.

Good modern hotel/apartment style. Quiet and handy to town centre. Only negative was all the staff smoke in the basement carpark next to the lift not nice for non smokers.Ferry was 30mins drive. The beach is approx 5mins walk and town was about the same.
Ask for a room facing towards beach on top floor the port view is not very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing towards beach on top floor

Stayed at this hotel on my back from a holiday to the ferry at Dunkerque. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast good. Underground parking €5 extra.

No complimentary tea or coffee in room, no snacks or refreshments available at the hotel.

Also it was still 30 minutes away from the ferry terminal but allow more time to get there in morning rush hour traffic!
