Description: Michel Sarran restaurant in Toulouses charming old town is a townhouse eaterie that boasts a pair of Michelin stars, understated warmth and style, and the most famous gastronomic name in the city. Michels wife Francoise greets you and shows you to the bubbling, modern ground floor dining room, the leafy terrace, or one of the more subdued, romantic first floor dining rooms. Sarran has made his name with ambitious, subtle gastronomy focussing on the best regional, seasonal ingredients: warm foie gras soup with Belon oysters, wild salmon cooked and cru with green curry emulsion and soba noodles and shellfish, chicken and egg with Aquitaine caviar. The lunchtime Saveurs menu is a steal. Wines and service are superb and the amuse-bouche delightful.

“Imagine this ......”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

A 3 course meal, including coffee, wine, amusee bouche and petite fours in the centre of Toulouse at 2 star Michelin restaurant - with impeccable service - all for just 49 Euros a head. Well believe it or not that is Michel Sarran's Capitole Menu for lunch. Lovely decor, tables for 2 that are not cramped in - plus the most delicious food. Go there you will not be disappointed - but try to book well in advance.

“My first multiple michelin star experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

It was a fantastic taste experience and the service was kind and helpful. I have not been to a restaurant with more than one michelin star before, so dont have a great deal of experience but serving one of the trio of lamb on a heated Toulouse red brick was a touch of genius.

“An Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

Amazing food without doubt, a great meal with wonderful, original ideas, surprising combinations and added touches that made it a memorable experience. We found the restaurant atmosphere in the evening a little formal and a bit 'stuffy' for us but you can't fault the food. Would like to go back and try it for lunch one day which might be a little more relaxed.

“A hedonistic and heavenly food experience.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2012 via mobile

The first thing to say is this is expensive. £329 (yes £ Sterling) for the chef's tasting menu plus selected wine for 2 people. The tasting menu on its own was €120 per person....

However....

Amazing, delicious, sublime, filling!!! It's about 12 courses and I'm a big guy and I was comfortably full. They don't stop bringing amazing breads. My wife (this was a honeymoon treat) was a little tipsy too as we must have hit up 7 bottles of wine and an awesome black cherry/chocolate desert wine/sherry?
It was all too good. 3 hours all told. Book if at the weekend. No dress code but it is pretty formal/stylish so do what feels right for you. Enjoy!!!

“Fantastic food and value”

Maybe best food we enjoyed in France. Even the service was great too, seems we're talking about another country!
