Absolutely a must for families visiting Toulouse. Your kids will enjoy a lot of attractions about space. Very interesting the visit to the Soviet space station. You can also experience what you'd feel by walking on the moon!

It was an amazing experience being strapped to this machine that helped mimic how I would have walked on Mars! The place a definitely worth visiting.
Apart from the 3D movie and the Awesome planetarium. It houses several space crafts including the the Russian Mir. I also like the meteorological section where you could film yourself doing a weather broadcast and also find out what the weather in France at the time you were born.Interesting indeed!! I only wished I has more time to explore all the activities!

I found it an average day out. The planeterium show was good. I think you would be lost if you don't understand any french.

It's a great afternoon for families that don't necessarily want the crowds, noise and general excesses that come with a typical theme park visit. There aren't really any rides, just loads of interactive displays and a couple of simple but neat zero-gravity simulators. We live about 40 mins away and have visited the park 3 times in the last 8 years or so and are always surprised at the new additions and displays. New to us was the Mars exhibit where you could find very detailed life-size replicas of all the Mars rovers including the one just launched (see photo). Our 15 year old son spent quite a bit of time in here. Also excellent was the IMAX movie 'Hubble: 3D.' I've never been a fan of the 3D movies but they have the technology figured out and it was thoroughly entertaining and informative.

We went on a weekday in November and had a considerable wait to be seated in the Astro Cafe in the main building but the hostess served a nice rosé to those of us waiting in line along with juice for the kids. A nice touch—not often seen in France. I understand this restaurant is relatively new and was dreading the typical cafeteria style trimmings of theme park food but was pleasantly surprised as our lunch was excellent and once seated, the service was speedy. There are a couple of other cheaper snack bar counters elsewhere in the park that serve drinks sandwiches and desserts.

Overall, Cité de l'espace is a well laid out park that can be enjoyed in a few hours without feeling rushed. The grounds are immaculate with plenty of grassy hills and benches to enjoy a picnic lunch on. Most of the displays have text and audio in French and English and I understand you can rent headsets with other languages for the self-guided tours. There is plenty of free parking that doesn't require a 30 min walk to the front gate. It kind of resembles a professional office park from the outside;not necessarily a bad thing.

The park is located just off the A61, southeast of the Toulouse city centre with ample free parking on site. Entrance fee is about 20 euros but you'll need all day to explore all the activities so value for money. Lots of interactive displays and life size models. Things to see and do both indoors and outdoors. Good shows in the Planetarium, Stellarium and Imax theatre; commentary in french but audioguide in english/italian/spanish and german. Nice shop too.
