Post-rugby match, we all came back to Trevor Brennan's pub - and what a good plan that was. Friendly, proper beer, and as other reviewers have already said, Trevor makes you feel very welcome.
We were very lucky to find seats, as it was filling up fast, but were able to watch the other games of the day, whilst enjoying a beer, and at some point during the evening, we found some complimentary bowls of food placed in front of us as we continued to soak up the atmosphere, talk to fellow fans and generally have a good time.
If you are coming to Toulouse to see your team play Stade Toulousain, then you really have to take in De Danu at least once during your trip.

We(geezers) had been in France visiting the caves in the Dordogne Valley and were returning to US via a flight from Toulouse. Our hotel was across the street from the pub so we stopped in on our way from dinner. Staff is fantastic! I mean they really work to make things happen for you. And it's easy to see why! The owner is a retired professional rugby player who is always present and leading by example, whether it's chattting it up with the patrons or actually serving the meals. Our third/final night we decided to dine there and,as usual, the place was packed and seating difficult to come by because there is no no waiting list. Nevertheless the bartenders and waitresses huddled together, put us at the end of the bar, and shortly had us seated. The folks at the bar next to us graciously offered us some of their appetizer while we waited. I asked our Irish waitress how she ended up in Toulouse and she laughed and said that she waited on the owner and his family in Ireland and he gave her his card in case she ever wanted to work for him in Toulouse. And on top of that the food was really good! There is outside seating but that's primarily for smokers. And they do have a brunch on weekends.

...made better by excellent post match (Toulouse v Harlequins, 12/11) atmosphere.

We had heard about the pub before we arrived - run by the once (or twice, perhaps) irascible Irish second row, Trevor Brennan. Well, he is an absolute Gent. We went there pre game, post game and the day after! Food service at Saturday lunchtime was brosk and all looked good. Great atmosphere for the Saturday HEC games and full of good banter and efficeint service.

On match day we had brunch there - several door wedge Bacon sarnies and a few pints of Guinness before trudging up to the game. We came back delighted and sang the night away with all the Quins fans there (and a few locals who joined in too). TB came over and had a chat for a while and was very friendly, accommodating and bought us a round!

Fantastic rugby pub with good food and excellent atmosphere.

Anyone who’s travelled can tell you that there are a vast number of plastic Irish pubs throughout the world, few of which convey any sense of what an actual Irish pub is like in terms of atmosphere. It’s difficult to generate atmosphere anyway as this mostly depends on the people who come to the pub rather than its furnishings. In the case of De Danu, lots of people, especially on rugby weekends, come and create an atmosphere simply because it’s a good place to spend a couple of hours supping a pint or two and having some food while discussing how best to right the world’s wrongs. The food is good – definitely on the hearty side and probably not recommended by a cardiologist but good all the same (once in a while). And unlike the plastic props that make so many Irish pubs seem like they’ve been dressed by a Las Vegas scene designer, the De Danu is full of rugby mementos that qualify under the heading of “the real thing” as the majority have been gained by pub owner Trevor Brennan with Leinster, Ireland, and Toulouse. If you’re short of somewhere to go on an evening in Toulouse you should definitely check out the De Danu – but be aware that you might not be able to get in due to the crowds of happy people who assemble there.
