“An old convent converted to a museum”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

The building itself is lovely, but the main attraction today are the museum galleries. There are a lot of sculptures, but the highlight for most visitors will probably be the picture galleries.

“Definitely Worth the Visit”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

There is no Mona Lisa or View of Delft level masterpiece here, but there is a very interesting collection of statuary and art from the region including a beautiful Madonna and Child from the middle ages made by an anonymous artist.

The painting collection is a bit of a hodgepodge, but in a good way. You'll find sketches by Toulouse-Lautrec and a 20 foot tall painting of Mehmet the Conqueror entering Constantinople, and everything in between.

Also the setting is gorgeous.

“Varied art in a pretty setting”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

This museum/art gallery had the virtue of being quite small but interesting and varied. The paintings included some well-known names and told a reasonably coherent story - although perhaps too many were squashed into the available space!

The church (of the old monastery) was impressive and contained some interesting paintings, but the highlight is the cloister and garden setting - a little oasis in the middle of a busy city.

“Great sculptures!”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

This is a fairly small (manageable) museum that specializes in sculpture. Despite being in an old monastery, the sculptures are not all religious and span centuries. There are paintings as well of course. Great little museum for only four euros.
