“Really nice food and a warm welcome”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

Le Bistrot was on a list of places we wanted to eat in whilst in Toulouse. A bonus was that it was within a three minute walk of where we were staying, and it was a wet night.
We received the warmest of welcomes from the waiter( who in later conversation turned out to be the joint owner) and were asked if we wanted drinks. A glass of wine was suggested, and chosen, details of it's grape varieties offered, and matched well the dinner we were about to order. We ordered grilled red snapper with risotto, which was lovely and greatly enjoyed. Dishes being served to other tables close by looked generous and tasty, they included duck, lamb and steaks, all were eaten with apparent pleasure. One of us had to have a dessert and chose Cafe Gourmand, which to a pudding lover was a selection of five, yes five, small portions of house desserts along with a coffee. A visit from the chef (sister of the host and joint owner) who provided us with more details of the desserts just eaten was very welcome. Good value for money and only few minutes walk from Wilson Place. Visit and enjoy.

“This restaurant's a delight!”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We enjoyed immensely this intimate space and felt like we were treated like special guests to someone's home. Both the chef and waiter/host really cared that we have an exceptional dining experience - and we did! Their spoken English was such a help. Beautifully prepared food and attentive, personable service make this restaurant a real gem.

“Welcoming”
Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

Like many otherTA readers we chose the restaurant because of good reviews and proximity to our hotel, Pullman.we had a great evening due to the very helpful,English speaking owner and his chef sister.
We had 3 courses which is fairly unusual for us.the starters were baked Camembert/ tomato tart. Both very good.we both had duck breast which was less satisfactory . The portion of duck meat was too large for either of us to finish and the chips were similarly over our limit. We should have shared but we did not know. There were no green vegetables and it was a bit too salty. For our desserts we had sorbet/strawberry soup which was fine.
The wine was a good choice and one of the cheaper options, it is pleasant not to get a hard sell with dinner! Overall we recommend Bistrot and wish them well.

“A Lovely Dining Experience”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

It's our last evening in Toulouse and we couldn't think of a better way to spend it! Our food--tuna steak and duck breast were perfectly prepared. The restaurant is owned by a brother/sister combo and they do an amazing job--they were both very pleasant and worked hard to make our dining a nice experience. The tomato tart was a perfect starter and the dessert variety selection was a great ending. We were in the company of like-minded travelers. Overall, a great dining experience. Merci!

“Wonderful service and food at a fair price”
Reviewed May 22, 2013 via mobile

I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who would enjoy duck breast and Tuna. Both were excellently prepared. Warning! The portions were more then generous and sharing an entree would work for most if you have an appetizer. The owner was very charming and his sister, the chef came out to make sure everything was fine. It's a small and charming place to spend the evening.
