The internet photos looked good but the real thing lived beyond expectations. Our first rate experience of this lovely hotel in a great place makes us want to return soon to Toulouse. Staff were most helpful, and the room nicely furnished with every possible item guests would need in the room/bathroom. Excellent breakfast although the room was a little cramped when full. Great value for money, def worth a return visit.

Room Tip: the room had everything needed for our overnight stay. Might be worth asking for a bigger bed?

Beautiful hotel, right in the centre of Toulouse. Very comfortable beds, and tastefully decorated rooms. The staff are very friendly. The location is perfect, you walk out and you are in the Place capitoul.

When the Editor of Conde Nast Traveler recommends a hotel, you know it will be a great stay! We have stayed several times over the past few years in various rooms. My favorite is the suite with the private balcony looking out over the rooftops of Toulouse. The welcome from the staff is always warm! From the bellman taking our luggage from the taxi on arrival to the front desk manager... Retaining a smile as I struggle with my high school French. Breakfast is excellent and is worth the addition price, I will say that the room service menu is limited for those really cold nights that you want to stay in....luckily one of the best restaurants in town is across the courtyard. Friendly and good value no matter if you want a standard room or a top end suite.

Room Tip: The website is the best way to view.....the rooms are according to the rate.

Our son is studying in Toulouse and we went to visit him, my wife booked this hotel , I really did not check it on trip advisor but there was NO need to. We arrived to be greeted by a lovely lady who informed us that as we were staying for four days we were upgraded to a suite . The staff were amazing and they made our stay soo special. We travel a lot but the level of attention to our suite was amazing. The location was the best in Toulouse, well done all involved. Check out their brasserie and also check out the Bistrot and the Irish bar the Killarney , all do excellent food. We will be back soon as at 50 life is for living and Toulouse and is the location for me .....

Great city , hotel , and fantastic French food.....

Room Tip: All rooms excellent

This is a real and living example of what a hotel should be. For sure I am not a self appointed hotel guru guide otherwise I would have stayed somewhere else. The staff were dedicated
and assiduous and certainly I did not need my pillows tucking up but for sure the Wi-Fi was a amusing but then this hotel is not about this. The décor, character, ambiance, oh one can go on. Yes, stay there and enter into the spirit or go somewhere else more mundane 'et en plastique'.

This isn't really my type of place, old and busy decor. The place is od and needs to be renovated. It has free wifi but it disconnects often and you have to re enter the code. The pillows are really bad, mattress is old and needs to be changed. I would not recommend. No recommended for people with disabilities.

Room Tip: Room 267 is on the 3 rd floor without elivator.

Despite being situated in the central square of Toulouse the Grand Hotel de l'Opera is actually set back some 30 metres meaning all the noise from the bustling square disappears. Our room was towards the rear of the hotel and offered complete peace and quiet.
The hotel is a beautiful and historic building and the staff do their best to maintain standards with smart uniforms, porters, and perfect manners. The public areas are well designed and a pleasure to sit in, the mirrored bar is a lovely space at night, although the drinks are fairly expensive. I didn't try the breakfast at 19 euros as there are some great breakfast options in the square at 6 euros.
The room itself was fairly small and traditional French design with lots of dark woods and fabric. Bathroom was a good size and well equipped. The TV was large but only had 2 English language stations.
The quality of the hotel and its perfect location was a big factor in our extremely relaxing and enjoyable stay and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Room Tip: If you want quiet ask for a room at the back
