“Nice, clean and cheap”

I like Ibis hotels in France, in a country where it seems that all budget hotels are old fashioned, crappy and even scary, Ibis offers clean, silent and functional rooms with TV and free wifi. Ponts Jumeaux in Toulouse was no exception offering even free parking for my car. The only downside was that it's not well connected with public transport to the city center and you have to either book a taxi or walk for 30 minutes down to Capitole square.

Stayed for three nights with my wife, to visit my daughter who is studying languages at Toulouse Uni.
The last time I spoke french was at school, so I tried to muddle through as best I could - however all of the reception staff spoke fairly good englsh, were very helpful and welcoming.
Only a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport (standard rate 27 euros!!), the Hotel itself is well situated a couple of kms from the city centre. Best way into the centre itself was by the no 16 bus that runs every 15 mins, with stops very close to the hotel.
The room was very clean, with new towels each day, and a good breakfast available at only 8euros extra per night.
Only small downer was that all of the TV channels (with the exception of BBC World News) are in French. However, as we only used the hotel as a base to travel about this wasn't a real issue.
Highly recommended if you just want a basic good value-for-money hotel.
We'll definitely stay again.

Like getting to the hotel by car, park the car is easy but requires skill - not for the careless... super check in , get to center by bike( hire just round the corner)- breakfast prepares you well for the working day. Room is what you expect , could do better with the sights ... but the price is good so no complaints

WE had six very pleasant days in this hotel. The staff were excellent and could not do more to help. They even understood our bad French. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms especially nice and large. The AC works very well. The food in the restaurant was also nice and fresh. On sundays there are several other places to eat a short distance away. Snacks are available all day every day but the restaurant is closed on sundays.
Many shops are closed in Toulouse in August.
The canals on either side of the hotel are pleasant places to walk in the shade along the towpaths.

I assume that most reviewers here stayed in the Ibis Pont Jumeaux during business trips. I actually think it is a good base to explore the city, despite being a couple of km away from the center. There is a Velo Toulouse bike-station right behind the hotel (a 15-20 minute calm ride to most tourist attractions). Buses are a bit more complicated, but possible to use. Ratings are obviously lower than the other Ibis which makes this good value for money. There is parking underground - they could only improve the system to use it.

Awfull place, low hygene, the kanal stinks, there are ratts beside the kanal, and a lot of prostitution around. we came after 11 p.m. and took the last parking place, it was a lot of work to get the car in there.

the dinner was also very bad, the ham of that buffet was grey and there was nothing else, so we were looking for an restaurant. we went out and we had a walk beside this kanal. just a few minutes... then my wife discovered all the ratts and she skip very fast. than we found an restaurant... not very much better...

the room was microscopic, very small, there was no place for our luggage! the air condition was stinking the first 15 minutes, then I turned off, the bathroom was also very small, as big as the trunk in our mini.

there is no reason to check in, really, better stay in your car, far outside of this town. we had a nice breakfast on the next morning in the student area, Quartier Latin. but please, avoit this corner...

Decent, basic hotel in a nice location by a beautiful canal. Most of all, unlike many other hotels, this one had good air-conditioning that can be controlled by the guest in the room. We tried a different Ibis hotel in the same city that had virtually no air-conditioning and did not choose to stay in a sweat-box where I couldn't control the temperature.

The A/C at the Ponts-Jumeaux hotel worked fine, the room was clean and neat, and I got a good night's sleep. No tub, just a shower, but that was fine for us.

The staff was very nice, and the person at the front desk directed us to a nearby bus stop for an easy, cheap ride downtown to see the sights. She also spoke English, which was really helpful! -I would stay here again.

  • Liked — Good air-conditioning
  • Disliked — Small room, no tub, but it was OK
