Penny, the tour guide, greeted everyone for the tour with real zest, you knew you were going to have a great few hours, the introduction with a little of the history really set you up for the sights you were going to see, all done at a good pace, so you didn't feel rushed, able to look and absorb the surroundings as you went. the tour also gave you chance to see lots of places you would have otherwise missed, as there is no better knowledge than that of an "insider!"
so well worth the very modest cost.

Thoroughly researched and pleasantly presented, this is an excellent introduction to Toulouse and its history. Take up Penny's recommendations for places to visit - they are worth it. She knows her stuff and is a very friendly and pleasant guide.

I have lived near to Toulouse for almost 10 years and have visited for the usual shopping. As we are now leaving I decided it was time to see what Toulouse really was all about. By chance I met an american couple who had booked a "Walking Tour" of the city and I thought what a great idea to do with a friend who was due to visit. She has a great interest in history so I knew that the tour would be her forte.
We met on a lovely sunny Thursday morning in front of the Le Donjon .. It was easy to spot Penny with her green trolly. Also in our party were 3 lovely irish ladies so our group was perfect.
Penny has great knowledge and a passion for the history of Ville Rose and made the morning so interesting.
Half way through the tour we were treated to tea and home made cakes ( in the shape of the Occitan cross) in the cloistered garden of St. Pierre des Chartreux. You would never find this on your own.
Along the banks of La Garonne where we witnessed the disappearing barge into the entrance of the canal to the beautiful arched ceilings of the pastels shop ... I could go on and on ... but really you must go and experience this yourself.
I went along with a friend but before we leave I will revisit with hubby.
Penny you are "Worth Every Penny"
Hope to see you soon
Val & Carol

There's no doubt about it; our trip to Toulouse would not have been nearly as good without Penny and her walking tour. The tour was about 2 hours, and took place around the heart of Toulouse. The guide of this essential tour, Penny, was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and enthusiastic. She made the trip fun for all, including our kids by handing them both an 'explorer challenge' for them to fill out on the way, and at the end, she gave them both certificates! She also recommended some family friendly restaurants and shops, all fabulous!
The tour also included a quick 10 minute stop in a park, for some tea, water, and cake bites.
Thanks Penny, for letting us in on Toulouses rich history and culture!

Our guide Penny was amazing! What was even better was that we had her all to ourselves (we were 5). Two of my friends had arrived late in Toulouse and were not able to be at the meeting point at the Tourist Office at 2 p.m. but Penny allowed for their running late and they caught up with us. Penny knows her stuff and I had a really good overview of Toulouse history and an understanding of the city layout. It was extremely hot so when we stopped in the tranquil garden and she produced a flask of tea, cold water and homemade cakes we were enthralled. She managed to pack a lot into 2 hours and even gave wonderful recommendations for breakfast and lunch and places to visit the following day which we followed. Thanks to Penny we really loved our stay in Toulouse and would go back to visit.
