This restaurant is a small, friendly place.

It's fairly cheap (so please understand that you get what you pay for!) but the food and service exceeded our expectations. There are better steak places in toulouse but for the cost,it's very good. The steak was cooked just right ( I had medium, my partner had rare) and the dauphinois potatoes were good.

I'm actually a regular customer of the restaurent now. If you want to have a great meal with your friends this is your place.. So as the name suggests, the restaurant proposes meat dishes with a choice of 3 different "entrées" and some quite original desserts. The cuisine is simple, well executed and simply delicious, if it's your first time, try the house specialty, "pavé Rossini" with "Gratin Dauphinois". The waitors (and waitresses) are very friendly, and don't mind chatting with the clients. All in all, a perfect place to have some good meat in a friendly atmosphere.

Having read various reviews we went along to try their recommended Steak Rossini. (Foie Gras on top of the steak). We were disappointed, as the food was not as good as we would have expected. This is the first time we have ever been expected to use the same cutlery for starter and main course! The meat was not as tender as expected and the table bread was rather dry. Although there were several tables available, the bill was presented after the meal without request, and consequently we felt rushed to leave.

In Toulouse on business. Had a few at the Melting Pot.
Needed sustenance so time to make a return visit to Meet the Meat.
Very hot night so decided to have the Beef Tartare.
Salad starter with gesiers on the ball.
Steak tartare was wonderful.
Pic St Loup wine from Mas Bruguière was really good.
Eat here again.
Next week hopefully!

This was our first meal in France. We were enjoying a beer at the bar right next door at the Melting Pot. We asked one of the very friendly locals where they suggested we eat dinner. They asked if we appreciated really good meat. YES!! They said go to Meet the Meat. We walked over and found that we needed a reservation. Although they were busy he was able to get us in in about 30 minutes so we went back to the bar for another beer. One of our new friends asked what we planned to order. We told him we didn't know and we didn't speak or read French. He offered to walk us over the restaurant and help us order our meal and wine. He explained to the waiter that we wanted an authentic French meal and that we had never had Foie gras. They created a special salad with duck and a nice portion of Foie gras mouse on top. Then when our server enquired if we had liked it. We were in foodie heaven. When our steak came it had another portion of the mouse on top and it was melting into the steak. The Gratin Dauphinois Maison (I think the potatoes are called.) Were just as amazing as the rest of the meal. Yes, they were just potatoes but they weren't overly sauced and the seasoning and presentation was beautiful. Our server was amazing and even came to our table, poured himself a small glass of his own wine and toasted with us to an amazing adventure in France. He was very friendly but allowed us our privacy to enjoy our meal but always made eye contact as he walked past to another table just in case we needed him. I even asked to meet the Chef to thank him for such an amazing meal. He was overjoyed because he had never had a guest thank him personally before. When we got our bill we were expecting to pay way more then we normally pay for a meal but realized it was worth it. We were very surprised to find that the cost of the entire meal was half of what we expected.

When you put all of that together with great bead and wine... you have a meal that was more then just food... it was an experience.
