A friend from Toulouse took us to this restaurant. It is one of his favorites. Many of the main course choices are grilled over a wood fire. One of the specialties is duck. It did not disappoint. There were about 14 people in our party, and half of us ordered the duck breast. It was delicious, perfectly cooked, and we really enjoyed it. The starter salad I had was also excellent. All main courses are served with fried potatoes and a salad - both served family style. There was plenty for everyone. The service was very good - I think it helped that we had our friend who is French with us to chat with the waitstaff.

This is the second time here and I enjoyed it as much as the first. Had Ravioli to start which was delicious then the fillet with pepper sauce and the Ille Flottant to finish. Plenty of bread given throughout and good wine too. Nice atmosphere too. 5 min walk from Palais du Justice tram stop and maybe 5 mins from Place Du Capitole.

Will be back again!

The perfect place to eat great food at a reasonable price. We had a great beef grill , wonderfull taste. Try the café gourmand, you will have a very pleasant surprise at the end of your meal.
I warmly recommend it.

The meat was incredible, but only in small portions. Thank God we had the potatoes and salad with it.

Living in Toulouse you know that La Braisiere is one of the classic you cannot miss when receiving visitors.

As a meat-lover, of course I can only confirm that the beaf, and specifically the filet of La Braisiere is second to none.

In fact for a normal dinner, you can satisfy yourself by a Filet with a sauce of your choice, that will be completed with potatoes and salad. No need for an entrée, truly. If you are still hungry you can complete your meal with one of their excellent desserts, in particular the crepes which are superb.

Service is also excellent because despite the place being always crowded, you can tell the staff never loose the smile and don't turn arrogant like sometimes happens in order restaurant become (classics).

So why do I give it a "very good" and not an excellent? they have in my opinion two problems.

- First they seem to try and cramp as many tables as possible in the main salon. I guess they are aware they have the capacity to fill up the place thanks to their reputation and don't wanna miss any paying customers. This is fair, but it causes too many tables to be tooo close together, creating this ambiance of crowded place where the staff have to navigate around the tables to find their way.

- Secondly, the place is, as I said so popular, that despite them having an efficient and gentle staff, waiting times may sometimes be long.

So I think they need to work a bit on the experience.
