This is small-town France, and it's probably no different from small town Iowa, or wherever. The hotel is small and unpretentious, and old, on a small, unpretentious, old street. Our Garmin took us right to the door. The room was bigger than forecast, and the view out the back of a frothing river was a complete and pleasant surprise. I retreated to the car for a forgotten item -- parking is on the street -- and left the key in the room with my wife, not realizing the hotel's front door would lock behind me. With no cell phone, and our room on the backside of the hotel, I wondered if my wife had fallen asleep, calling up visions of sleeping in a Peugeot 308. Always, an adventure. Ain't travel great? The woman who'd checked us in finally appeared to let me in, looking as though I might have awakened her. We were off early to see nearby Niaux cave, so we skipped breakfast; but the dining room looked large and inviting. All in all, a nice choice traveling cheaply.
