Jan and James are great hosts and this is a wonderful place to stay. We have stayed there twice and we thoroughly enjoyed it on both occasions. The surrounding area has many interesting places to visit so it makes an excellent base for touring in the local area. We have no hesitation in recommending La Noyeraie as somewhere that offers a wonderful welcome and great value.

Lovely English couple run this place a mile or so from rocamadour ( which if you stay there is a bit too touristy, gift shops etc...). Great stop for the visit. We were on our way to the Cote Da'Zur and stopped over en route. Well worth a try!

Charming, family run property that serves a lovely breakfast and is VERY family friendly! Jen and James, the innkeepers, were gracious, welcoming and SO helpful! They directed us to cool medieval villages, local caves and even the lovely city of Cahors on our way back to Paris. The property is historic, clean and comfortable and we had TWO rooms for our family of four! Breakfast is simple, country French and perfect. Talk to Jen about wines...you'll get graduate level observations on Cahors area wines and she will add any that you decide to try onto your room bill - YIPPEE!!

La Noyeraie

Travelling with a young family it is not always easy to find suitable accommodation in France, so to find somewhere within our budget that had two rooms behind one locked door so that we knew our children were safe at night is always a relief. Not only do many hotels not have suitable space (trying to force the sale of two adjoining rooms instead!) there is the added worry of how young children will be received when they arrive too.

Therefore it was a wonderful experience to receive the warm welcome at La Noyeraie near Rocamadour. Easy to find, good value for money and - the best bit for adults we thought - the delicious dinner and superb Cahors wine choice meaning we did not have to drive after some very, very nice local wine.

The children played happily in the garden and the acres of land around the property. There was great sadness in saying goodbye to their lovely dogs as we left after just two nights. We will plan to stay longer next time if we can, the growing popularity of the place now means having to book quite a bit ahead to get a room there.

Just 3 km from the centre of the incredible Rocamadour town, less than five minutes drive to the Monkey Forest (which we did at the end of the afternoon when it was quieter and cooler just before dinner), and less than 20 minutes from one of the world's most amazing sites, the Gouffre de Padriac, location was one of the reasons for making this choice.

The hosts, Jennifer and James are very keen to make you feel at home and the duck which was served for dinner was one of the best meals I have ever tasted. Sitting in the garden after dinner marvelling at the stars (no horrid yellow light pollution down here) whilst enjoying just one more glass of wine was a brilliant way to wash away the long drive of earlier that day. The property is easy to find as it is at a crossroads. so expect some traffic noise but it is not overly disturbing, especially if you are used to city traffic, in which case (like us) we hardly thought about it.

Breakfast under the shade of the trees in the gentle breeze was relaxing and a chance to pick the brains of our hosts, from which we found an interesting circuit of villages to visit not given in our guidebooks. Don't miss James' excellent cafe au lait from his serious coffee machine too.

The furnishings are simple, in the old French country style, with basic bathroom and equipment, clean and well serviced. There are plenty of places nearby to visit and we hope to get back there in the future....if we can get a room!

We, Dutch family of 4, stayed one night on our way back home. It was a most pleasant and welcome stay after the long trip. Fantastic hosts and fantastic meal with local wine prepared too!
We stayed in the bleuet suite.
We definitely will return.

The owner is very welcoming, we did not get the chance to enjoy his table d'hote as we decided to go to a restaurant in Rocamadour. We stayed in the studio, spacious and clean. The breakfast was served in our room and the tray was garnished with homemade cakes. This B&B is not luxurious but comfortable and a great value for money.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our Chambres d'Hotes. We do our best to make sure that everyone has an enjoyable stay here with us. I am sorry that you did not sample our Evening Meal, we are often booked up in advance and this is why it is always a good idea to let us know in advance of requests to eat with us to enjoy our well reviewed local cuisine and incredible Cahors wines.

We would be delighted to see you in the future and perhaps next time we can ensure you have a perfect stay complete with our Table d'Hotes Evening Meal.
Warmest wishes,

We had an extraordinary stay as a family in Rocamadour in this cosy and excellently managed Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are very comfortable especially with families and the attention and affection you receive from the owners make you feel as home. Rocamadour is a beautiful village and even magic seen from The Belvedere, the nice restaurant overlooking the village. The sacred nature of the shrine and the whole medieval city gives you the idea of travelling back in time to 1300! Do not miss it and do not hesitate to make your reservation with La Noyeraie!
