“Eat well like a local”
Reviewed November 5, 2013 via mobile

There are several reviews here that describe this excellent left bank restaurant as filled with locals. No surprise. The food is simple, but well prepared. The space is intimate and the service crisp and helpful. If you're staying in the central part of town, you might forgo a long-ish walk to reach this place, but that would be a mistake. We were there late in the season, but it's worth calling or stopping by to book. Otherwise, you might turn up and not have a chance to have their excellent food.

“Very tasty food at a great price - a pleasant dining experience”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

Mid week lunch in autumn and the menu de jour reflected the cooling weather. Three courses for €15.90 gave me pumpkin soup, a slow cooked lamb hot pot and a panna cotta. Loved every course. The menu was on a blackboard and there was a choice from three items per course. The soup was extra tasty, the casserole was extremely hot and had the right quantity of meat and fresh veg, the panna cotta was runny but yummy. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us. We were the only anglophones and the staff were happy to translate where my culinary vocab was deficient. It was pretty full of local clientele and the atmosphere was most pleasant. Our little kids were welcome and there was a menu enfant which they were happy to substitute an item to keep the peace with our 4 yo. Service was prompt and professional. In all, a tasty, quality bistro menu at a very attractive price. I would eat there again and am happy to recommend it. Free parking on the restaurant street or a few minutes walk away near the river.

“great value bistro”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Don't be put off by the modest exterior, this is a charming bistro populated mainly by locals at lunchtime (and probably evenings too). Had the menu du jour, terrific value at under 16 euros for delicious, uncomplicated French cooking with 3 options for each course. Good value wine list too, apart from slight lack of choice among the whites. Very pleasant, efficient service. Am looking forward to our return visit.

“Refreshingly different”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Good selection of dishes on set menu at lunch. Friendly and efficient staff. Nice to find somewhere in the area that does not produce the stereotypical region's dishes and at the very least a good variation on the theme. A bit of a walk from town centre but parking nearby.
