I have submitted previous reviews of this establishment which were largely complimentary but I have to say that my opinions have been re-appraised! The location is ideal for travellers through France en route to Spain. However, whilst the rooms are up to the standard of other Ibis Hotels with the usual facilities, I have to express doubts about its quality! We arranged a one night stay on our journey south to Spain and a two night stay (some two and a half weeks later) upon our return! Having driven some considerable distance before arriving on our journey south, I had hopes of a relaxing drink and meal before retiring early to my bed. Unfortunately, even though an official holiday period, the restaurant (without prior warning) was closed! We were fortunate to find a relatively local restaurant where we were well catered for - but overall, the cost of the Ibis hardly matched the level of care we received. Our breakfast the following morning was somewhat "basic" and unattractive! Having booked for a second stay I queried the situation and was assured that the restaurant's closure was a "one off" and wouldn't be repeated! In the event, when we returned upon our journey north later in the month - the restaurant was closed on our first night! Breakfast on our first morning had improved only slightly over our previous experience! Undaunted, we persevered for our second night and booked a meal in the restaurant. My wife was satisfied with her meal - but my own order of sirloin steak was almost inedible, and was so tough that I debated whether I should eat my shoe and wear the steak or risk my teeth and jaws! In short (and seriously) the meal was very poor and caused me to celebrate the previous closures! All in all a very depressing and disappointing experience - which will not be repeated! As a further note, whilst some staff at the Ibis were pleasant and attentive, many more were obviously disinterested and lacking in vitality. At both breakfast periods on our return visit, it appeared that the centre of all staff activity and gossip was the reception area - whilst no-one paid particular attention to the breakfast room or the state of items available. As said, a very disappointing experience! Not recommended - but a nearby F1 establishment would appear to be a better and cheaper alternative!
