I had read reviews about this place and it didn't dissapoint. The food is fresh and well priced. My mother and i had the tomato/mozarella salad and the and the duck which was delicious. I wasn't a fan of the french fries, maybe because i have been eating it too often since i arrived France. The owner Xavier is very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. If i ever return to France i will return.

The main drag in Lourdes has restauranteurs looking at the hapless pilgrims as lions view the wildebeest crossing the Serengetti. Happily, New Orleans won't rip you off or disappoint. The starters were so so, to be honest, however the main courses were a delicious and subtle fusion and were wolfed down. Wine is excellent. The evening was topped by the owner Xavier sweet talking an old African lady, there with her daughter, who was obviously a dab hand at finding disappointment in life. Having walked in with one of the sourest faces I've ever seen, by the end of the evening, thanks to the work put in by the owner, she left beaming. Xavier is a star and it was a joy to watch someone taking pride in their work. A restaurant that genuinely cares about its customers should be frequented, I think. You should too.

I've traveled quite a bit in my life and as part of my travels I like to immerse myself in the local culture, music, sights- both tourist focused and the locations only the locals know about. As part of my travels in March I visited a small village in the south of France called, Lourdes which if anyone knows this town earned its place on the map and in the minds of travelers everywhere because of the story of the apparition. Most people travel to beautiful Lourdes to visit the site on the grounds of Lourdes Cathedral, but what was most surprising to me was not the story behind Lourdes, but the food that exists just steps away from the cathedral at L'Orleans. I had a number of amazingly delicious tapas and entrees bursting with flavor from all areas of the world- lamb skewers, samosas, rice, and homemade Tirimisu were just some of the delicious items I had on this family owned and run establishment. In addition to the food the drinks which were made from scratch were tasty and a great complement pre and post the meal. You must try the flaming Chapito... It's a winner!!!!! When dining out on vacation and at home yes, the food must be good, but the atmosphere and the service all ties into the overall experience and L'Orleans had it all! A traditional French restaurant feel and the warmth of the owners and their welcoming personalities made this culinary adventure worth telling the world about. If I could give L'Orleans a rating beyond Excellent I would give it and Extraordinary! I HIGHLY recommend that you 1) Visit Lourdes with your family and friends and 2) Have dinner at L'Orleans EVERY night you're in town!
