“Panorama Hotel, Lourdes France”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

We arrived at the hotel late since we came here via EuroTrain which was very near the hotel. The hotel was newly renovated and was very clean. The staff was very helpful especially when we requested to stay for 1 more day since our train had to leave late. Everything was near the restaurants, especially New Orleans Restaurant which served a wide variety of dishes including Paella. It's very near the Basilica that you can even see it from the rooms. The view from our room was amazing, we can see everything! The stay that we had over here was the best!

Our family loved this hotel. We stayed from june 15 to 17. 5 min brisk walk to the side entrance of the grotto. New rooms, with free wifi. Separate shower and toilet. Pretty comfortable even for triple sharing.

Great restaurants near the hotel. Breakfast was just ok, nothing great.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

My family (6) stayed here for 2 nights last June 15 & 16. We occupied 2 Triple Rooms. There was a little problem upon check in since they have not received any booking itinerary from the "online booking agency". But it was NO hassle at all. They just asked for a few minutes to prepare our rooms. around 15/20 mins after, are rooms are ready.

Location: from Lourdes Station (Gare), take the BLUE Le City Bus across the station. (More info in my Lourdes Trip) It will drop you infront of the grotto. The Hotel is conveniently located just behind the SHOPS. around 3 to 5mins walk. You may not be able to see the Hotel's name right away, but for sure, you'll see SAVEUR HOTEL, it is just right beside it. :) Below, there are two restaurants, NEW ORLEANS cafe is one.

Rooms: THE ROOMS ARE NEW. Since we got a triple bedroom, there were 3 single beds with duvets. VERY COMFORTABLE!!! The room is spacious. It has 2 desks, closet, safe, refrigerator, TV (mostly in French. but there is English news)

Toilet: It is separated from the Bathroom

Bathroom: Good size. Clean towels & toiletries. Hot/Cold Shower, but there is no soap dish available. but they have provided a stool, where in you can use your ingenuity to place soaps/shampoos/etc there. There is a good hair dryer. Heater (ideally for towels).

Wifi: FREE UNLIMITED access. Just ask for an access code at the front desk. One access code per gadget.

Breakfast: We had our breakfast/meals in the restaurants nearby.

Front Desk: VERY POLITE & HELPFUL. Mr. Seldo let me print my train tickets & hotel vouchers. :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room at a higher floor with balcony, because you can see the Grotto;s entrance.

We all admired the hotel as we pulled up outside in the coach. Downstairs was really nice with several large areas where you could sit and talk. The bedrooms were a real let down. I had a room that overlooked the back of another hotel. Some rooms had balconies. All seemed to have a TV. We had problems with the main plug socket, an extension lead was left dangling for us from a socket nr to the ceiling. There was little storage space. The room was jaded and musty. The bathroom had a walk in shower and a bidet. The staff were most unfriendly. We were part of a music group on pilgrimage. We think we were punished for singing grace before a meal by being placed in the annexe to eat. One girl had her plate taken away from her when she was still eating. The food was nice except the veggie option was cooked with pork .We found out when a friend with an allergy to pork had a bad reaction. Saving grace - close to the St Frai and grotto. There are Nicer / friendlier hotels in Lourdes. Beau site, St George. I know this from experience. The hotel has no bar of its own but it is attached to bars in hotels/cafes either side. Be wary about coming in late, we were locked out despite a night porter being on duty. We had to keep the bell ringing to wake him up, the place was in darkness with curtains pulled????

  • Liked — closeness to the grotto
  • Disliked — the staff
