“Immaculate house, stunning pool, beautiful spot ...”
Reviewed August 2, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

This was our second stay at Villa Rudel and we weren't disappointed. We are a three generation family group and there's something for everybody here.

Highlights for us are the stunning pool area (great sized pool, masses of seating and sun beds and lovely shaded area), spacious layout of the house (works well for different age groups), table tennis barn and bikes. There was a delicious selection of goodies on arrival and the fresh produce from the garden was lovely too.

The house is fantastically well equipped and immaculately clean. Can't fault it ... but can highly recommend it!

We enjoyed trips to Cordes-sur-Ciel, Puycelci, Albi and Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val.

“Comfort, seclusion, character with all the modern facilities you need.”
Reviewed June 19, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Villa Rudel is a large house with plenty of land and a huge swimming pool. It's tucked away in the Tarn region of France (about 90 minutes drive from Toulouse airport). The owners have made a great job of keeping the old character of the building and installing modern facilities. All the plumbing, air conditioning, cooking, bedding and dining facilities work really well. This suited us as a perfect hideaway for a quiet family retreat. We had a day trip to Carcassonne which is a must see preserved fortified town.
I like to arrive to a clean, well maintained, fully functional and well thought out villa and this is one of the best I have been to.
It's perfect if you want somewhere in the back of beyond with no neighbours, traffic, landing aircraft or nightclubs to disturb you. There is even a fully equipped gym but I didn't use it.

“Villa Rudel”
Reviewed November 17, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

My parents and ten year old son and I were lucky enough to stay at Villa Rudel in August of this year, (2015), where we had a fantastic time.

Set deep, deep, deep in the heart of the countryside of southern France – about a 60 minute drive from Tolouse airport – villa Rudel dominates a small valley just outside the tiny hamlet of Alos. The nearest town with shops for supplies is about 10 minutes away so if splendid isolation, (with plentiful resources), is what you’re after then this is the place. Speaking of supplies the area is packed with vineyards – so local wine is readily available – and recommended! I was fortunate enough to take in the local wine festival where all the red, whites and roses made within a few miles radius were able to be sampled – a great day, (I think…).

The villa itself sits on the side of a hill so the lower bedrooms and utility room are built into it. They’re connected to the bedrooms, living/dining room and kitchen in the upper part of the villa by a ‘secret’ staircase that my son was particularly taken with!

All the rooms are immaculately furnished, clean, and modern in a British style but within a rustic French overtone. It very much felt like we were in somewhere that would not look out-of-place in an upmarket magazine. The vast living/dining room and the sizeable kitchen were spaciously open to the roof whilst all the bedrooms and bathrooms have a cosy intimate feel.

My son’s favourite place to be was the surprisingly large swimming pool which sits on the hill above the villa. It has a cover which keeps out the cooler night air so the water is always welcoming – which given the temperature was into the mid-30s most days was very welcome indeed. The pool’s surroundings are very well accommodated with many loungers as well as a wooden gazebo which protects from the sun during the hottest times of day.

My personal favourite part of the villa was the veranda outside the kitchen with a large dining table where we ate all our meals gazing over the valley. There are few better feelings than having enjoyed a meal of fresh local produce, sipping a wine made from the grapes of a nearby vineyard and watching the sunset over the hills.

For those wishing to explore the surrounding area the nearby towns of Giallac and, most especially, the beautiful hillside town of Cordes-sur-Ciel are recommended. There’s an Italian restaurant behind the main bar in the town square with breath-taking views across a vast panorama that makes the kitchen veranda pale in comparison! Further afield is the university town of Albi which is well worth a visit if the time is available.

To summarise, villa Rudel is a five star holiday home, with a five star pool, set in five star surroundings.

Highly recommended: Five Stars.

“A true taste of luxury in idyllic rural France”
Reviewed October 29, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We are lucky to have known the owners through friends and as such we were some of the first to visit Villa Rudel for a week in August, what a delightful stay we had. The villa is a cleverly and tastefully converted longiere style property, with many modern touches and all the facilities and features you could possibly need for a luxury break in France.
Despite its generous size, a big group and can find peace and quiet here, and chill out in various spots around the property.
You can cook having visited the local markets in the well appointed kitchen, or sample the delights at a variety of nearby bars and bistros.
Loved it here and would love to return in the future.
Book here for peace and quiet and a true taste of luxurious living in France

“Perfect 2 weeks relaxation ”
Reviewed October 29, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

I spent two weeks here with friends and family and I can't wait to go back again. It is a lovely property with plenty to do around it.

The setting is beautiful with lots of open spaces and picturesque rolling hills.

As there is plenty of land around you it feels private and quiet if that's what your looking for. Although you are still very close to the local towns of Cordes and Cauhzac if you want to head into town for a croissant and a coffee or a beer before dinner. This property provides the perfect place for a couple of families or a group of friends to enjoy relaxing, playing games and exploring this area of south France.

The house is beautiful and well furnished, it is cool indoors when your need to get out the sun for a bit. Additionally there are multiple places outside to eat which means that you can either be in the sun or in the shade (I'm fair skinned so this was perfect).

Another important factor for me if that the beds are all very comfortable, I am particular about my bed and often come away from a holiday with a bad back but here this wasn't the case. I slept so well and woke up feeling refreshed every day. The air conditioning is a great plus, allowing you to cool off after a long day by the pool or cycling around the beautiful countryside!

The owners of this property have obviously put a lot of time and care into every detail of this property to ensure that your stay is a comfortable and enjoyable as possible!

Can't wait to go back!
